Great advice! Just personally I have to disagree strongly with retraction. Maybe it's only my anatomy but retracting for dips is the only thing in like 4-5 years of training that ever brought me close to injury. Had pain and weakness for weeks after trying it only one time. Most of the best dip athletes in the world actually go protracted. I think the best cue is to focus on depression and simply let the shoulders go where is natural, which will be neutral / slight protraction for most people. Do not force retraction.

After 1 year of w/o experience, I never felt my triceps with calisthenics like dips, diamond pushups etc as much as I did with cables in gym.
Biceps have somewhat similar situation but the dominant equipment was dumbbell for me

Yeah. For those who can’t do a dip yet I learnt how to do them with an assisted dip machine. Started off with 60 lbs of assisted weight and worked all my way to adding 30lbs of weight using a weight belt and plates.

For the fifth point, Athlean-X suggests the opposite and to slide the chest forward instead. Now I’m not sure what positioning is most effective for targeting the side pecs…
