Nice video!
I have owned a multitude of sports cars ranging from the Porsche 944 Turbo to the Ford Mustang SVO to the BMW M3....all with various street and track modifications.
I purchased a brand new 2011 EVO X GSR, enhanced with a different suspension, exhaust and intake and ran only 93 octane non ethanol. I drove this beautiful vehicle four days every week for four years across 36 miles of mountainous side roads round trip to my workplace. This car is truly the sweetest and most capable drivers car this side of $100, 000 IMO.
When I learned of Mitsubishi's plans to discontinue their jewel, I put her into the garage and bring her out only on perfect days.

Evos are so much fun to drive. Once you engage in gear you forget about the details in the interior. It feels like a race car, it sucks they come very restricted when stock, but you only need little and affordable mods to make it run as it should have from the factory.

Nicely done review... love the angles, the sounds and of course the commentary!

fun fact according to Wikipedia the guy who designed the EVO10 now works for Ferrari. I wonder if one of the suits in Maranello has an Evo tucked away in their stable.

I've had a total of 3 Evo X's... 08, 13 and 14.. all were great. FBO's on the 08 and 14, also daily driven. Zero issues, kept a smile always. Missed heavily.

so many people complaining about the new engine being aluminium instead of cast iron and can't take as much aftermarket boost blah blah. Mitsubishi is clearly sending us a message that Evo is a cornering machine, not a dragster. although S-AYC has existed on Evo since gen 8, this magnificent piece of tech has always been overshadowed by the engine's potential to gain 500 extra bhp.

i love the last gen Evo. it might be my favourite car. and i'm so glad that the 4b11T is a big turn-off to those who likes to stoop this beautiful machine to a dragster. Evo shouldn't be a car that gives you cravings of more and more speed in a straight line. it's a car that pushes you to refine your driving skills and makes you strive be an overall better driver.

btw i currently own a stock ralliart (except for the suspension cuz it has normal lancer's suspension which rolls like a donkey). might look into owning an unmodded EvoX FE later this year. and i'm gonna keep it that way.

Power:
Stock power does die off after 6k RPM. A professional tune even on everything stock makes the car behave way more fun and keeps the boost until redline.

Steering:
Steering tightness depends upon the toe alignment. Stock alignment makes car feel more stable and tighter steering, but often people do custom alignment to 0 toe front and back which makes car turn in much better and you can throw it around, but sacrifices the steering feeling.

I like the 10 interior over the 8 9. I've had both, still have the 10.

7:47 - 7:55 I love how you left that in the video to let us hear how the evo sounds. Just mint. Gave me goosebumps. I'm sad I'll never get the chance to buy one from factory to call my own. Great review

For a guy who's never owned or driven an EVO I appreciate the brutal honesty in this video. Mitsubishi probably saved money on the interior bits so they could put it into the seats. Popular car though 👍

Great review. First time in many reviews I've seen about the EVO where there is no mention the WRX STi. Well done.

The power does die off around 5500 rpm. A tune fixes it. Even the OTS maps from COBB help out, but I still had a lot of knock up top so I got custom tuned. I have a 2014 Evo X GSR and love it. Just adding an intake, hard pipe kit, test pipe, catback, Grimmspeed EBCS and tune really wakes it up. I'm at a conservative 320 whp because it's still my daily. Going E85 next month and hoping to move into the 400whp range. After that is sway bars and coilovers to help with the body roll a bit. It's not bad, but coming from my old FR-S, it's pretty noticeable.

Most coilovers allow you to raise the car as well as lower it. The issue for dirt/sand/gravel/snow rally type driving is the compression and rebound range wouldn't likely be optimized as most OTS coilovers are geared towards tarmac of one flavor, or another. Though, rally type coilovers are a thing, too.

One thing I hate about my evo x is that working on the it's annoying. So much easier on the 4g63. The x's turbo is right against the firewall and is a pain.
