They are clean, simple, and agressive all at the same time.

I ran a mid 10 on a high mileage stock block. Stock transmission and t-case too with high mileage.. all while retaining AC and seat warmers lol. These cars are amazing if you know what you’re doing

I have to say that the X is by far my favorite generation. It's actually one of my dream builds so I'm really partial to it

The 4B11T does not deserve the hate it gets.

I sold Mitsubishi’s when this car hit the market, the 8 and 9 were big releases too, especially with all the kids who couldn’t afford one and wanted to test drive them. While I love all the EVO’s there’s no arguing the 4G’s reputation, the X was something truly new. All the other Evo’s were pretty much the same car that just kept, “evolving” lol. The X was a really new car. There were some slight teething issues with the MR’s auto clutch transmission but it was resolved pretty quickly. Back when the X came out there were maybe 3 other cars with a similar transmission. They guys who actually drive their 8’ and 9’ would almost always go for the GSR, which made sense, especially in the beginning because nobody had a clue how to work with the auto clutch transmission. The MR brought a lot of new customers to Mitsubishi, we got vetts, bmw’s, one NSX, and a few MB and quite a few Audi’s traded in for an MR. Do think it’s a brilliant car and just like the GTO/3000GTVR4 it was a little ahead of it’s time. Now everyone has a auto clutch, toque vectoring rear diffs and variable torque split center diffs. The X drove like a much higher end car, especially if you compared it to the 9’s and below.

There was an awd turbo lancer with the auto clutch that sold for a lot less than the EVO, it was the Lancer Ralliart. In past generations the Ralliart was just an appearance package but the last generation they made a banger. You get a Turbo, AWD, and their awesome dual clutch transmission with paddle shifters. These days that kind of stuff is pretty common but back then not only was it 10-15k cheaper than an EVO X there were only a couple other cars with a similar drivetrain, especially that transmission which was and is an awesome piece of hardware. I keep looking for one of those cars to buy.

I had an Evo 10 and I can say that he is definitely correct if you start modding that it can fuck with some shit to keep it stuck it will definitely hold out

Evo X can make like 600whp on stock internals, I have 2 friends that’s are pushing that on stock, and devin nimela made 800whp on stock engine.

AWD Brick!? This confirms my thesis that the Evo X and the Volvo S60 R are logical competitors when done as street builds.

this is why I prefer an Evo 9...

older, but the engine is much friendlier to custom and stock bodykit are the legacy of Evo (Evo X on top of using a completely new engine compared to past generations, its body aren't designed by the original evo development teams... just like latest gen of Supra that made by BMW)
