Did you hear about this new fasting diet? It’s been all over social media! This video explains what intermittent fasting is, the science behind it and metabolic processes. It also presents research articles that explain the diet further.

This video was made by McMaster University students Farah Al Faraj, Sarah Qureishi, Ingrid Kao and Neel Patel in collaboration with the McMaster Demystifying Medicine Program.

Please don't call it a diet. Its a pattern of eating.

Calling it a diet is misleading, Its just scheduling you're calorie intake at different times. You're not reducing calories like would be suggested by the term "diet"

Intermittent Fasting Plan (do this every other day)
- Skip breakfast (have water, black coffee or tea)
- Break the fast @ 12:00pm (big salad with some protein)
- Finish dinner by 8:00pm (fish with 2 different color vegetables)
- No snacks
- No food until noon the next day

This is a great explanation of the scientific side of Intermittent Fasting. I lost over 30 lbs using IF as a tool, to be fair, for those of us who have issues with overeating the biggest benefit can be the fact that there is simply less time in the day to over consume calories. I made a video on my channel with my weight loss results if anyone wants to check it out.

I think some of the commentators are being overly critical or unneccessarily critical. In it's simplicity this is one of the easiest and brief explanations of intermittent fasting.

I've been trying this. im not sure if i lost weight, but I feel alot better! less bloated ! im also eating smaller portions of food and i think my stomach is shrinking because i can't eat as much as i used to or ill get sick. so maybe its working! yay!

The term diet is used correctly here. The term means your habit of eating. Most people use it as a shorter "weight loss diet" but that's not the definition or the origin of the word. There are Weight Loss Diets, Weight Gain Diets, Strength Gaining Diets and all are diets non the less. Healthy Diet does not even imply Weight Loss Diet either and TV commercials abuse that on purpose.

Sweety this is not a diet. Its a life style change. I have been doing this for 4  months and lost 17lbs and I eat what I want in the eating window(does it sound like a diet?)

All I do since I know there are others who don’t like taking 2-however many meals per day, is I eat for one hour. 4 P.M every day. I drink a ton of water and I every now and then chew minty gum. I also either watch videos, go out, or game in order to distract my mind but not the entire time.
