The truth about knee pain

Показать описание
The diagnosis and treatment of knee pain, runner's knee and so forth, is all based around an understanding of anatomy that's wrong! Well incomplete. Why your knee really hurts could be nothing to do with your actual knee!

Fibularis anatomy with Fascia and knee movement stretch but fuzz speech Gil Hedley and different types of fascia and fascial anatomy. Movement fascia massage with stretch on iliotibial band or ilioribial tract and myofibroblasts show muscle behaviour or even behavior but biotensegrity reality questionable with Tom Myers or Anatomy Trains.

I was a dancer and loved jumping and could jump very high. I landed out of jump (which was from a considerable hieght) and dislocted my knee. Oh well, doctors said I needed a operation, I said no. Instead I analsed what exactly caused the injury. It was the placement of my foot . So, I leaned how to walk and use my feet prorperly and hence I went on to dance and jump my little heart out for many years. When i did body work Bowen, pilates etc., I was able to use my experience to good use. I love watching people try to re learn how to walk, its kinda of funny, but they get very good results. Thanks for video, I really enjoy anatomy so much.

Another great video x I know that you don't limit your thinking to the Anatomy Trains but I often look at the Spiral Line when people present with knee issues. By starting in the Splenii and following the Spiral Line through the Rhomboids - Serratus Anterior - int/ext obliques crossing over to the contralateral TFL/ITB/Vastus Lateralis - Tibialis Anterior and under the stirrup of the foot and then back up Fibularis Longus up into Biceps Femoris - Sacrotuberous Ligament and finally back up through the Sacrolumbar fascia and the Erector Spinae back up to the Occipital Ridge. There are also a few "elastic recoil" myofascial exercises that greatly help. PS I added in Vastus Lateralis after your great video about the ITB and the Vastus being ONE entity....a very enlightening video!

Thanks Julian, I lose hours, even days watching and digesting all your videos. Invaluable for my learning. Love it.

Thank you! I’m going to apply this thinking to my own right knee pain (lateral!).

A great subject. Often find positive femoral nerve tension created by iliopsoas tension, reduces fuel to the knee structures it serves. Always pays to include lower limb neural stretches in therapy.

Julian, amazing video like always, helps me to see/look at my students in a different way and adjust some of the portures to get better benefits and avoid causing more pain. Thanks

Many thanks. Historically have had episodes of knee pain and working w it currently - physio interestingly said it wasn't the knee itself, but the muscles above and below - gave me exercises, which help, tho it still feels pretty inflamed. Mostly pain is medial and sometimes under the kneecap. As long as I remember have been knock-knee-d. Also working w mentastics (a Trager modality), which emphasizes correct posture and minimal effort in movement/walking - ie no load on the knee. Work in progress as takes a lot of awareness and standing still! As to working w this with Bowen wondering if you'd then suggest exercises for people to correct their lop-sided walking/running.... Good to hear your video, sorry to have missed the webinar on knees, hoping for a repeat sometime.
