Just bought a MBA M1, I getting around 17 hours (2-4+ hrs screen time everyday). I use it for school; web browsing (Youtube, GDoc), using Word/PPT for assignments, Discord calls with external condenser microphone plugged in, Telegram & Outlook app always running in the background. And still have 14% to spare without charging it for 10 days. I wonder is it because my unit is a new one from 2022 where they fix somethings? But can't be..

Hey I just a new macbook air m1 and I think I have a problem with the battery, today I noted the battery percentage, I was using Figma, Notion, Few tabs in arc and this is the battery percentage drop,
3:30pm - 55%

4:12pm - 48%

5:00pm - 38%

5:30pm - 33%

for me 9-10 hours average. it drain until 20% battery before charging. I use only for YouTube, Netflix, ms office and browsing.

I know this is an old video but i dont see how anyone gets anywhere near 18 hours, mine has 98% battery health and around 8 hours is where its about dead just from scrolling reddit or facebook.

I am not even getting 8 hours of screen time. No editing, just browsing on Internet, brightness set around 60-70% at max. It also takes forever to charge, when you don't touch your Mac and your screen is closed it takes somewhere around 3 hours, maybe even little more. When you are using laptop when charging, it can take even 5 hours.

can i actually keep it plug in cause i use the 100% capacity (plug in-plug out) method, my cycle count is on 89, and my battery health is on 98%, i just used this mac book air for about 3 to 4 moth...is it normal? what should i do to keep it 98%

I never used a stopwatch but I charge my MBA m1 every 3-4th day, 20%battery remains, and I never shut it down.

8-9 hours for me...Such a CRAP laptop. Liars. Yeah sure you can get up to 18 hours a day if you keep the laptop turned off!!!! Why would I reduce screen light, keyboard light etc?!! So, maybe better is to turn it off and keep it in the drawer for 18 hours to have it last as those scammers advertise.
