M1 MacBook Air 2020 — BIGGEST MISTAKE I’VE EVER MADE

I made ONE mistake with my first M1 MacBook Air… After 1 year of experience, I'm 100% sure that you should NOT DO IT. Today we will tell you about what we had to face after a year of using the MacBook Air on M1! Is it worth buying in 2022? What problems await you after the purchase? Does it make sense to buy a MacBook Air on M1 now, or is it worth waiting for a newer M2 version?

With Mac Studio available, it's much harder to pick the best Mac for your needs! Is the 20-core CPU option and 64-core GPU option way overkill? Or maybe you should go with M1 Pro - 16" or 14"? Or will the basic M1 Air be enough for the tasks you do every day? Many questions are to be answered, but the M1 MacBook Air still looks like an excellent solution for many users. And I thought that sharing my 1-year experience with this laptop would help you with this buying decision. Because this small machine is still capable of doing so many things in 2022! I'm excited! I hope you're excited too, and let's get into the video!

The big "mistake" he made was getting the 256gb version instead of one with bigger storage, because he hates using external drives for some reason. There, that's the whole clickbait for you.

No fan and no heat, great battery life, 100% performance on battery. Once you experience this, you never ever want a clunky hair dryer again. This is the next step in laptop evolution. A new standard. The M1 Air is legendary now. Just like the first iphone.

I love how you don't even mention the 13 inch pro....because let's be honest it's just an Air for $300 more. I'm happy that Apple has established an amazing baseline of their products in how good the Air actually is for 95% of users.

The MacBook Air with m1 is plenty powerful for most users. The m1 is capable of video editing and and getting work done. The 8 core cpu and 7/8 core gpu is more powerful than any windows thin and light on the market right now

2 minutes in and you still haven't clarified what this "mistake" is that you hyped up so much. Sorry, not watching the rest.

The M1 Macs are beast. I have a M1 MBA for on the go and an M1 Mac Mini for my desk setup. Killer combo for pretty everything then some. I'd recommend 16GB RAM for years of use.

The M1 MBA is probably the best laptop I have owned. This, along with the M1 Mac Mini are game changing. Incredible performance, efficiency and build quality at an incredible price and a machine that is suitable for the vast majority of users, even semi-pro users and developers. It is on par with or beats out my work-issued Intel 16 MBP, and that is a much more expensive machine. I still have my Windows PC that I use for a bit of gaming, which is better for gaming, but again, that machine cost around 4 times as much as my MBA and it is definitely not 4 times better. Honestly, when my Windows PC reaches end of life, I'll probably use cloud gaming instead from my M1 MBA.

256 gb on a laptop should be illegal at that price point. Even my phone has more than that

as a person who uses MacBook m1 if your getting this for school and gaming, it is very worth it except it heats fast but the performance is very good but on the downside is that you cant play most AAA games but you can download parallels desktop

I have an M1 Air 16GB/1TB/8 core GPU. It has been flawless. I opened 47 apps at once just to see what would happen. All of them functioned normally, except when switching from one to another, which took longer. But I could still watch video on YouTube while rendering 100 raw files from Lightroom Classic. This is one of Apple's very best products of all time.

Two months ago I bought the M1 Air 7 core, 16gb RAM and 256GB SSD. Wow I have never looked back, this mac is truly amazing and offers a lot of performance for the money. You should totally get this mac if you want a budget yet ultra strong performing laptop for daily driving. I got 16gb RAM as I am a music producer and a part time programmer so I needed the extra ram for my hobby/workflows. However spending extra money for storage was not ideal for me since I have access to multiple cloud storage services and external drives so it's not worth spending. All in all, this mac will truly serve its purpose for years to come.

I have a macbook air m1 and i just can't go back to chunkier laptops. It's impossible. I have a windows desktop for serious work and the m1 as a daily driver is perfect. I use it to watch movies and listening to music, web browsing and google docs. The battery life is insane. I always recommend this laptop. Best thing ever happened in my life tbh. also runs dolphin natively and with the ps5 controller working natively too, it's just a bonus for all of us gamers.

Just got an M1 Air, which is the first Apple product I've ever purchased. It's just stupidly good. Easily the best laptop I've ever owned. I'd used MBPs from the pre-M1 years and never really found them that compelling but the M1 changes the game. The Air is an outstanding piece of tech.

I went ahead and got the 16GB / 1 TB version. I wanted the larger drive and that was going to run the base model price up to $1399 anyway, so I just threw in another $250 and got the RAM upgrade along with another GPU core.

And I'll tell you what, it's an outstanding laptop. I haven't had a single complaint so far. I don't think I got the best value, necessarily, but I got a laptop that does everything I want it to and it was within my budget so I'm happy.

got my M1 MBA June of 2021 and until today, it has been the best performing device for me. i got the base model and i mostly do office/paper works and presenttions so just an additional iCloud storage does the trick.

I am a Lifetime windows user switched to Macbook pro M1 last year. Mine is 16gb+1TB model with 8core gpu and 8 core cpu. Its been a year i am using it. I am a heavy user, and mostly i like the performance of my macbook pro. But, when i try to use After Effect for Motion Graphic my nightmares get started. Its Becomes extremely slow specially when i try to see the render preview! I found that its quicker to render the whole thing rather than Realtime preview which actually require a lot of Ram, I have used a i5 7th gen laptop with 16gb ram, 256gb ssd, i must say it was performing better than the macbook pro m1 for the same type of task in after Effect. I have no issue with Photoshop or illustrator.. But seems like i am regretting with not Upgradable Ram of macbook pro m1.

I took a step backwards 😄 and swapped a MacBook 14 Pro inch for a MacBook Air 13 and i love it.
After a few days of "delight" with the new screen in the Macbook 14 Pro, I do not see any major advantages in it.
The screen tires the eyes, even though it's a 120 Hz screen but unfortunately it smudges a lot.

I would always get the 16gb ram option no matter what it really depends on your type of work you do
