All poses in this short yoga practice are seated poses, so they can be done without a yoga mat, you just need some clean spot where you can sit comfortably for 10 minutes.
If you find sitting on the floor uncomfortable on the hips and can't keep your spine straight (cross-legged or other seated positions), it can be a sign of tight hips. Try placing a folded blanket or towel underneath your sit bones - it often helps to make seated positions more comfortable.
Some of the poses in this practice (cross-legged sit, butterfly, 90/90 stretch) are not recommended for people with limited knee mobility, injured knees or other knee issues. As always, listen to your body and avoid any poses that cause pain.

Did this as my cool down after a workout. I've had covid for the past week and wanted to give exercising a go after being bedridden. This soothed my sore muscles and cured all of my tightness. Not to mention you have a beautiful, calming voice! Thank you again x

This is perfect! Thank you for this! I've been dealing with cancer that leaves me unable to walk very far for the past 10 months, and I'm exhausted all the time, so this was just what I needed to start stretching things out again without using all my energy for the next several days, lol. This is my favorite beginner yoga video. Some of the reasons I prefer your videos over others:
1) Your voice is calm but authoritative, and not breathy as if you're speaking through sighs. Just very straightforward and relaxing.
2) You don't use flowery language or appeals to mysticism. I belive that if this is one's connection to yoga, that's wonderful, but it turns me away from it, personally. I love that your language is straightforward and focused on the structure and mechanics of the body rather than mysticism. It helps me connect to the exercises much more comfortably.
3) The music you have playing is perfect. It's very engaging without being distracting, and very calm without being sleepy. Also the sound mixing between your voice volume and the ambient music is excellent.

This was really easy to do without having to crane my neck to look at what you're doing, you're really good at explaining and you have such a soothing voice. I'm recovering from multiple brain surgeries resulting in complications and haven't quite been able to exercise as much as I want, but this among other videos you have has been a great starting point even on days I'm low on spoons. You're amazing, and what you do is great too!

Thank you so much. I have been looking for some stretches/warm ups to do before work in hopes that it will prevent some of my pain problems, but it has been hard to find something I can physically do while my body is still in pain. This was lovely and was much more helpful for me than trying to rely solely on my nearly 20 year old ballet warm up knowledge 😅

Merci Uliana, your soft voice accompanied me trying out the poses, as I am starting yoga again after 1 year. It is a good beginning I will measure my progress each week by continuing this every Sunday and other yoga every a.m.
