*Vader takes the final swing at Obi, who begins to fade into nothing*
*Vader stops before the blade connects and Obi returns to normal*
'What. The. Fuck. Are. You. Doing?'
"I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine, Darth."
*Vader proceeds to move his blade closer to Obi again who becomes increasingly transparent, before returning to normal again as he draws back*
'This is total bullshit Kenobi. I've been drinking fucking liquid ramen through a straw for 20 years. Let me have this!'

Obi-wan wanted to die so he didn't have to appear in any of the sequels.

"Vader's fighting style was completely retooled, and would've been impossible to predict"

Vader was much taller than Kenobi, so he clearly had the high ground. Kenobi knew he didn't stand a chance.

Selflessness of Obi Wan is unequaled among all Jedi, that's why he is my favorite Jedi of all time.

“He sacrificed himself and disappeared into the force.” That’s the perfect way to describe Kenobi’s sacrifice

I loved how he denied Vader his vengeance, and flexed on him with the force.

Obi Wan wanted to redeploy once he noticed commander mode was available.

So to put into perspective just how powerful Anakin/Vader was in the force, it took Qui Gon 10 years to partially return from the dead as a force ghost, Obi Wan a few years to fully return (Not just voice form which happend immediately) Yoda a few days/weeks, while it took Anakin without any training at all just a few hours. That is how powerful he was.

I can't remember where I read/saw the theory, but there is a theory that Obi-Wan gave his life to signify the ability to accept loss and forego attachment.

“Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force. Mourn them do not. Miss them do not. Attachment leads to jealously. The shadow of greed, that is.” - Yoda

“The fear of loss is a path to the Dark Side.” – Yoda

Darth Vader throughout the series has the inability to accept loss and death. This is seen with his mother and with his wife. He turn to the dark side to avoid loss. It is not until the end of the movie, that he accepts loss and transform into the force like Obi-Wan and Yoda.

So what you're saying is that Obi-Wan, in his last moments... Trolled Vader by not giving him the kill ? Wow. He died as he lived. As a true Lord of the Trolls.

Edit: Welp that's a first ! I never expected to reach that much likes. Thanks guys !

The senate has been informed that Jedha was destroyed in a mining disaster.

Didn't Obi-Wan once say to Anakin, "Why do I have the feeling you're going to be the death of me?"

- I want to thank all of the people who liked and commented on this post. I never got more than 400 likes and you all make me feel knowledgeable. I'm gonna go back to drinking and partying like I was doing three years ago when i made this comment.

I was like 5 when I seen star wars back in the day and I’ll admit I cried when Obi faded away( thinking he died) His character was very loving and charismatic. At the tome none of us thought what this meant till the end of the movie and then later in the films. To this day Obi wan Kenobi is my favorite hero of all time .
