Orchid Care: How to Care for Your Orchid in 6 Easy Steps

Taking care of orchids is not as difficult as you think. In fact, we can show you how to care for orchids in just 6 easy steps. These six steps are covered in our newest video and will cover the keys to orchid care.

When you’re learning how to care for orchids you must understand that room temperature will affect its growth. Taking care of orchids gets easier when you know the optimal room temperature for orchids is 60-80℉.

There’s another hidden danger in your home or office that affects orchid care. You’ll want to keep your orchid away from vents blowing cold or hot air onto your plant.

Watering is also very important when you’re taking care of orchids. Three ice cubes, once a week, is all you need.

Another key to orchid care is maintaining your plant. Remove dried blooms and stems when necessary. Orchids blood for three months and then rest 6-9 months.

Fertilizing is critical when you’re learning how to care for orchids. Specifically, mixing your solution strength. Your 20-20-20 solution should be mixed at half strength and should only be applied when your orchid is resting with NO blooms.

Repotting an orchid is also critical to its health. Repot once a year after blooming.

It's obvious ice is not good, what bothers me is that you say they have a rest/dormant period. False! They grow roots and leaves!

I use crushed ice and have the best success ever with my orchids. Even the growers put using ice cubes “around” the plant. Slow melting process . Works:)

The ice will kill your orchid, so you can skip the repotting and waiting for it to bloom part. What a crap company
