Hello, thoses that aren't green after watering are dead so cut them off or they'll rot and your orchid is in danger it could rot the wole plant

I agree with the other comments. Even though it's indeed a short video, that doesn't mean it is rejustified to spread false advice. The roots don't look good especially after the soaking it's very obvious. So you could have mentioned that you would advice to repot it soon

That is a beautiful orchid! We don’t see that color in this area. I would definitely put that one in a pot that is a couple of inches larger. The dead roots need to be removed. As the dead roots decay they change the chemical composition in the container. The live roots need to have a little more room to grow.
I hope I will someday find a beautiful orchid like yours.

Do you soak the soil in the cup with the plant? Like is the soil submerged in the water or is it just the cup?

Try and use distilled water if you can and ensure it’s at least room temperature.

I have been given an orchid in a tall glass jar, the whole orchid is within the jar including the flowers. I can’t see the roots as the bottom is full of bark. I’ve had it 8 weeks and so far it’s still alive by my watering only when the bark looks dry but not too much so there is a pool of water at the bottom of the jar

However I’m not sure what I’m doing really! Will the orchid eventually grow taller than the jar? How can I check the roots as I can barely get my hand in the narrow jar and don’t want to damage the flowers.

I need help! 🙏😂

I was told I could use terracotta pots, is that okay cuz I cannot see the roots

Your orchid is really root bound. I’m pretty sure that you need a bigger pot for that.

For the most part, I check the roots before I buy.

It's not supposed to go into a bright window sill. That's too much light.
