Well said. Leave respectfully and with love.

The reason you don't slam the door on your way out is so someone can follow you to the light

I told my pastor why I was leaving and he told me to leave quietly because they really didn’t expect it of me and didn’t want to explain to the youth why I left (I was in the youth ministry) it was probably the most peaceful outcome I could’ve asked for but it was painful. Thanks be to god I’m about to enter the catechumenate.

Did the same thing myself (not a pastor but a tech guy for sound/video/live stream) nearly a year ago

i plan on quietly leaving the youth ministry i’m involved in & just quietly leaving the church. i don’t plan on proclaiming it, i don’t even plan to have conversations. It’s totally okay for people to change their minds on the things they believe or believed in. I dont need to explain myself to anyone.

As a catholic it was God's word that brought light in my darkness. His word alone gave me hope, and absolute forgiveness where the church offered none.
He saved my soul. Since then I have no place for the pagan counterfeit I was raised in The resurrected Christ made me a member of His one true Church with His own blood. Praise God!

Show up to a different church on Sunday it’s that simple.

Easier said than done. We didn't make our leaving public, like in the middle of a service, but whenever I see who we went to church with, it has to be heavily edited. Not that what I'm leaving out would just be rooted in anger, because there were some serious issues no one should have to tolerate. So, my only answer has been, "The Holy Spirit wanted us here instead."

It's interesting, the various reactions I get. Some are okay with it, some look like they know that's not all there is to it (but I don't want to put that pastor on blast), and others look like they think I'm abusing the use of that phrase.

Im protestant, but have been studying church history. I follow both Catholic apologists and Protestant apologists to help me learn. I Ieft a question on Keiths channel asking with a genuine heart, no intent for malice or arguing. My question was did he believe he was saved when he was Methodist for 20 years? His sweet wife has converted but his adult children are still Protestant currently. What does he believe about his childrens salvation status now that he is Catholic?

Once the truth opens your eyes, it's hard not to yell from the rooftops all the lies and heresies that you are running from. Oh, but it isn't helpful... Grace and patience. God bless you all.

Just be humble and truthful, don't overcomplicate it.

I was a Presbyterian for 55 years and 30 of those years as an ordained elder. Before I would say anything about my conversion on social media, I wrote an email to my pastor telling him why I was leaving the Presbyterian Church. I waited until he responded back. Then I let my friends and family on Facebook know. I tried to be respectful in leaving as Jesus Christ would want me to be.

The bible is so "crystal clear " that its followers split in hundreds of confessions, even different religions, that fight agaisnt each other till today.

Is there a Catholic Bible I can purchase with the correct commandments and books and scriptures?

Don’t both Catholicism and Protestantism believe that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior and died on the cross for their sins?

To be fair, yelling "All you heretics, Im leaving!" Sounds good even though it may not be the best approach lol

Same time, it's always ok to call out errors..we, as Catholics are told to do so.. it's in the Catechism. Others will see you're correct..they may have also been feeling the same way....but I'm sure your protestant pastors did not want you to say anything..🙄🙏✝️🕊️🤱🩸🌹.

What is the best way to leave the catholic church to join a protestant one? Especially if you will not be allowed to come home again.
