My 90-day Drops App Challenge is coming to an end (I had challenged myself at the beginning of the year to memorize all 2000+ Dutch words in the app) and I thought it would be helpful to share some tips I use with helping get large amounts of data into my long term memory. Hopefully this helps you too!

Thank you. I’m learning Japanese, it’s so difficult making linking images, but I’m slowly getting better. I’m also listening to rap music whilst translating the English words on the train in my note book. As my phone just leads to pointless distractions. I also find learning before bed and reviewing in the morning really helps.

I use memory judo. Take advantage of the strength of those unpleasant memories that always pop into your head uninvited. Tag something onto it.

I'm a cuber, which means that I solve Rubik's Cubes as fast as possible. One of the most important things is to learn new algorithms. Do you have any tips on learning them? The kind of algorithms I am talking about are kind of like the one you talked about in solving a 2x2 blindfolded.

A good word to add to your tool bag here is "Cement". All of these tools are "cementing" the knowledge into your memory.

I combine Dominic O'Brien's word learning technique with a simple spaced repetition app called Anki. 2000 words is a one-day job if in a hurry. Learned 200 Indonesian words today before I went on my chores.
berpakir - think. A bear THINKing about a yogi fakir. You can turn dictionaries in the form of excel sheets into usable Anki files.
