Transform how you learn with my full learning system based on the latest research:

Interested in mind mapping? Then these videos might be for you:

Are you serious about academic success? If so, you should get a lot out of these videos:

Up to your neck in flashcards and Anki but not getting the results everyone says you should be getting? Here is an apparently ‘controversial’ but super valuable (and PROPERLY evidence-based) take on Active Recall and Spaced Repetition (rather than the pseudo-evidence most ‘gurus’ regurgitate):

Another helpful thing I do is that everytime before I go to sleep I try to remember everything I studied throughout the day, it’s a good way to remember both your hardwork and what you’ve learnt.

i induce anxiety with the thought of “what if the teacher just puts this as a question in the exam since the practicality just doesnt matter n they’re essentially testing my ability to mug up useless information” it works

I’m training to be a firefighter right now. I have to remember quite a bit of facts and regulations because we get called out randomly to answer in class. I appreciate 💯💪 best channel I discovered for education

Yes!! I remember what I learned when I connected it to current events. For example, if I want to remember what are anti-trust laws, I google the word with the year 2024.

A current event such as Jetblue trying to merge with Spirit Airlines is blocked due to Anti-trust laws.

Then I tie it with relation to other laws as well, it's vastly easier to understand and apply to future concepts versus mindless memorization. I find it engaging for active thinking vs passive flashcard nonsense.

This is spot on, I believe that every single student who is mildly observant has come to the same conclusion. Because they had to have been subject to this same situation, schools don't know how to effectively deliver the information they're teaching so they just shove it in your face and expect you to remember everything, and of course quite the opposite effect is achieved, and teachers get frustrated with you when you don't remember stuff that was taught months ago. Having a personal sense of relevancy and value is important.

Physics is a subject that beautifully identify relationship with perfect precision. Often the relationship formed cannot be completed with just text but requires the use of mathematics to define the relationship precisely.

It's kinda underwhelming how this guy never gives practical tips. Ok, let's make connections, but good God, could you give an example of how to do it???

My brain The next day:" how I tricked him into thinking how he tricked me in remembering something important"

Let me give you the best solution: Take a mock test covering all subjects you are planning to study beforehand... Now your brain knows what's relevant and what should be remembered... Thank me later 🤭

So that's why reading is so good for learning vocab.

I am really having a hard time to remember such a large content and this makes a lot of sense. I wish I knew this earlier.

everything we learn is useful for us and so from this we may have to think that everrrything is important

These videos seem to all be about memorising because this is not how learning works.

Let me give an example. Say we wanted to learn how a machine works. You seem to be suggesting we should hear an explanation and trick our brain into making connections. If we actually gave the machine to people and said analyse it and figure out how it works, especially, if we gave it to a group with different prior knowledge, they would construct the knowledge and wouldn't need to "trick" their brains. They would also learn more if you asked them to evaluate whether the machine worked efficiently.

I am amazed that someone with an master's in education seems not to have read Vygotsky.

How do we make connections with what we have learn't? Are we supposed to relate it with thing's we already know!?
