How to Memorize a Speech

How to memorize a speech and impress an audience with your public speaking skills.

If you're like most people you get nervous at the thought of speaking in front of a group - it's a natural reaction.

The first thing we worry about is what we're going to say. Standing in front of an audience with a blank look on your face is not going to win you many admirers.

So what do we do? We try to memorize exactly what to say. Every ... single ... word.

We've all seen someone remember and recall an entire speech word perfectly. Woohoo, they achieved their goal!

Except...

...it wasn't a great speech, was it?

Watching someone woodenly stare straight ahead as they read from a mental script is not entertaining. It's not engaging for the audience.

Public speaking is all about the audience, but we often lose focus of that as we battle our inner fears.

So how do you find the balance between memorizing a speech and engaging, entertaining or persuading an audience?

It shows on how you can deliver the speech well and it says that memorizing the speech is not the only thing that will make out of it, it says that delivering the speech is also a matter so that you don't sound like unprofessional .

I love this technique. It has helped me to loosen up and be more spontaneous. I just ran through my speech and the delivery was so much better than when I tried to remember the words. The images are so freeing!

Thanks this helped me memorise my speech! The only thing I'm worried about is when I actually get up in front of everyone. I'm fine during practice but when I say it, I forget everything and start to shake. This happens every time I speak in front of a group. 😕
