We can’t lose our salvation, but Paul tells us in Philippians 2:12 to “work out your salvation with fear and trembling.” What’s up with that? If you’ve ever been confused by that passage, this video will help!

Working out our salvation with fear and trembling is the same as hearing the Word and doing what it says.
Faith comes by hearing the Word.
Now if you hear the Word but you don't do the Word, your faith is dead.
Those who have faith that is alive do the work of the Father with fear and trembling because they are SAVED by GRACE.
Let the Spirit of the fear of the LORD be upon us.

I have faith that Juju the Tree God is real. I have faith matter was created by intergalactic space pixies from a parallel dimension.

Thank you for proving my faith is justified.

Faith is the most useless tool that you could ever use to find the truth.

If Frank's god was real Frank would not need faith.
He would be working for himself and the welfare of humanity.

We are saved by grace through faith, not our works. Our sanctification and works are PROOF and ASSURANCE of our salvation. That is what 1 John explains. He wants us to be assured of out faith. We are to test ourselves to make sure we are actually in the faith because so many are fooled into a false sense of security while continuing to live their lives in willful disobedience to the Lord.

It’s unfortunate that Christian’s fail to get the basic foundation of salvation right? If one fails to understand how one is saved, all their other works are useless. If you aren’t saved already, then what foundation are you building on as written in 1 Corinthians 3? When you get to heaven, how will you plea? Will you say, “we did this in your name, we did that in your name” or will you simply say, I trusted in your finished work at the cross to cover my sins and make me righteous? The simple conclusion to what it takes to be justified can be found in the parable of the Pharisee and the the tax collector found in Luke 18:9-14.

I pray everyone finds their way. Blessings

Whenever we see the word "salvation" or "saved" in Scripture we need to ask "saved from what?" And then derive it from the context. Scripture cannot contradict itself, because it is the truth, so a verse taken out of context is the only way it could seem to contradict other scripture.
Romans 4:4-5 "Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness"
We need to use the same basic grammatical skills we use everyday in our own language for scripture and stop watering down the perfect work of Christ on the cross!

I’ve been pulled closer to Orthodoxy partially because of this faith/works issue. Frank has always seemed to make sense to me even from an Orthodox perspective, and I’m glad he continues to put some common sense into this false dichotomy of faith and works. It seems self evident that there is a single moment in time where Christ “saves” us, but that we must manifest that by how we act in the physical world with our works.

We're justified and sanctified by faith in Jesus Christ.

Paul says;
"Work out your salvation with fear and trembling."

We must Grow in faith and bear fruit. if your nature is truly that of the Christ, it must bear the fruit of Christ as proof that you're of that nature, but this is a process, a tree doesn't bear fruit overnight, it takes time for this to happen, in the same sense, we must work out our salvation by growing in faith. The growth process can often be a struggle, fear and trembling can be a part of figuring out your faith and salvation in Christ.

From what the Lord continually teaches me and trains me in is that justification (faith) without sanctification (works) is conversation (dead).

Its not "work for" ..work out it is more about growing in faith Jesus and exercise what you believe not to earn it .

Is it really plausible that such a confusing mess was inspired by a perfect deity?

Without the law there is no sin, Sin is transgression of the law, how would I know not to worship graven images, how would I know not to blaspheme GODS name if it was not for the law, these are an abomination to GOD,

Yes, work out your salvation that has already been given by faith in Christ. Not work for it. Actively fight temptation, resist evil, study the word, draw near to God and do His will.
With the fear and trembling of respect and reverence for who God is and who we are compared to Him. Knowing we were sinners when Christ died for us and we don't deserve so great a salvation that was given at such a great cost.

The Israelites who where wandering in the wilderness for 40 years weren't technically saved. The land of Canaan is Heaven symbolically, so no one will enter heaven unless they work out their salvation. Hence they are not saved.

“But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. For the wages of SIN is DEATH, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭22‬-‭23‬ ‭

ETERNAL LIFE to those who by patient continuance in DOING GOOD seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not OBEY the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek; but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who WORKS what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For there is no partiality with God.
Romans 2:4-7

“You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.”
‭‭James‬ ‭2‬:‭24‬ ‭

After Israel's 40 years in the wilderness, it would seem that not all Israelites were justified/saved eternally. Doubtful that the Israelites who worshiped the golden calf or rebelled against Moses in the Korah incident were eternally saved, so then that would mean that they weren't justified after leaving Egypt. The idea of 'once saved, always saved' seems to be a lullaby that lulls us into false sense of security.
