Thanks for the response. Seems like Aquinas had a more rich definition of faith than the reformers since he includes the virtue of love.
Makes perfect sense of Galatians 5:6.

If faith is defined properly. St. Paul in Galatians 5:6 defines faith as a living faith that works by charity. Charity is equivalent to acts of love i.e. good works.

Saving faith that has charity is a faith that has a BEGINNING, and saving faith Produced by Christ, saving faith is a gift from God and Christ specifically, faith is God's work.

Faith Alone as in Faith and not added works, that is, our works. Faith UNTO righteousness, that is, the righteousness of Christ, that is also true.

And the Lutherans agree with everything Wagner says but, instead of saying it is the virtue of the faith that justifies, they say it is the faith itself apart from its virtue. But then they follow up and say if that faith doesn't have that virtue it is not true faith. Always been hard for me to think glass half full, glass half empty.

Yeah NO, whenever I'm arguing with a protestant, they are defending the "intellectual assent" faith.
They make a mockery out of salvation (look up Elon Musk's "salvation" in Babylon bee interview.. )

It is not our faith, But the Faith of Christ, this is why people say faith alone;
Romans 3:22
22 Even the RIGHTEOUSNESS of GOD which is by FAITH OF JESUS CHRIST unto all and upon ALL them that believe: for there is no difference:
Galatians 2:16
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the FAITH OF JESUS CHRIST, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be JUSTIFIED by the faith OF Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Act 26:18
To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which ARE SANCTIFIED BY faith that is IN ME.
Gal 3:22  But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the PROMISE by FAITH OF JESUS Christ might be GIVEN to them THAT BELIEVE.
( Ever wonder why Jesus said just to believe in him? )

John 3:15-16
15 That whosoever BELIEVETH in him should NOT PERISH, but HAVE ETERNAL LIFE
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever BELIEVETH IN HIM should not perish, but have EVERLASTING LIFE.
John 3:36
He that BELIEVETH on the Son hath EVERLASTING LIFE and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
John 5:24
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and BELIEVETH on him that sent me, HATH EVERLASTING LIFE; and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
John 6:40
40 And this is the WILL of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and BELIEVETH on HIM, may HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE: and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 6:47
47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that BELIEVETH on me HATH EVERLASTING LIFE.
John 11:26
And whosoever liveth and BELIEVETH in me shall NEVER DIE. Believest thou this?
John 10:28
And I give unto them ETERNAL LIFE; and they shall NEVER perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
John 17:3
And this is LIFE ETERNAL that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
