I cannot wait for the next episode! I have an 18 year old who has rejected the word of God but thinks he has a relationship with God and my last church made me feel like such a failure as a single parent. I also got married and had 2 more children and they told me because I didn't make them bend over on a chair and not resist my spanking, I was discipling them wrong! And that they would turn out to be terrible humans! I've struggled for so many years with guilt in my parenting because I never had parents and I never knew how to parent my children correctly let alone biblically. I can't tell you how much this is appreciated and needed. It makes me want to move where you are.. 😭

Pastor John has a series on the family it’s my favorite it has been a huge blessing in how we raised our kids now 22 years old and 16 years old, we couldn’t do it without His word.

This is such wise advice. Unfortunately, we were on the ‘Growing kids God’s way’ bandwagon years ago. It caused soooo much damage before we realised we were being mislead. If you come across the book - throw it in the trash.

My take on Babywise was a little different than many others. 1) I didn’t take it so much as a “Christian” thing I had to do. 2) I quickly saw the the Ezzo’s schedule was not possible for my kids. Even when they could go 3 hours, it was my goal to work towards, not the rule.

Practical Pitfalls:
1)Sending your kids to public school
2) not having a good balance of disciplining and showing affection/playing and interacting with kids
3)not living out your faith as an example for your kids (being a hypocrite)
4)legalism
5)ipads and too much media
6)letting your kids hang out woth anyone
