Starting off with chin tucks is great for working the muscles around the neck and the shoulder area. This helps reset the neck muscles and relieve tension in the area. They are also great for posture correction.

Next, isometric exercises, like cervical sidebend and rotation, are great ways to release the muscles without making big movements that might cause pain.

Some full stretches like an upper trap stretch and a levator scapulae stretch will help relieve pressure along the cervical spine.

Finally, a SNAGs or cervical rotation stretch with a towel, helps isolate each segment of the cervical spine to get a great stretch to help decrease tension.

I’ve always had difficulty getting that chin tuck right, I’ve always had to do it in front of a mirror to get it even close to right . Your explanation with the finger as a reference point helped so much

This video is great. I crashed while snowboarding and landed directly on my head, so my neck is kinda messed up. These stretches made it feel so much better.

On my 7th day with this tension headache, and on my third week with Invisalign. I think that must have triggered the headache as I have TMJ too. I did these exercises along with you. It helped a little. Thank you Dr. Jo! 😊

These really helped, especially the towel one! I went to bed late yesterday so my sleep quality wasn't as good and that tends to cause headaches for me. I felt one coming on so I've done a couple of your shoulder/neck stretch and headache videos and now I'm feeling a lot better. Thank you!

Hi dr Jo, the pain in head that I suffered for many years comes from the shoulders and mainly the place where is between the neck and shoulders! I mean daily pain that goes up and down and sometimes very much up! Beside that on my forth years on tinnitus 😢
Do you have any suggestions exercise treatment that can help? Thank you in advance

I had my first tension headache today and it lasted 12 hours. After doing all of these (except the last one cus I’m at work and don’t have a towel) I got immediate relief. This is crazy and I thank you so much for making this video! 😅
