I just started learning butterfly and I'm so happy that all the swim channels I'm subbed to are posting a TON of butterfly videos :D I really really REALLY suck at butterfly but I'm determined to learn it.

The flow drill is very beneficial even for more experienced and faster swimmers. A common technique that many swimmers can refine by doing that drill is pressing their chest, something that helps me improve my efficiency and not wasting energy.

The most success I've had with adults and youth when teaching butterfly is Skate drill, but that's more about timing and refining your whole stroke, not just individual arm/leg technique components. Maybe for an "Advanced Whiteboard Wednesday" segment?

12:18 huh, interesting. I have been feeling guilty for switching to free when I get too tired swimming butterfly midway through a length, but that seems to be a completely ok approach to start with -- thanks!

Gravitiy. Strong enough to hold oceans, weak enough to let butterflies fly 🥳

I btw love breaststroke pull and butterfly kick. Either one or two kicks.
Or breast stroke pull, kick and a butterfly kick in glide added on.

i had a question in the single arm drill, should I bend my elbow during recovery as in freestyle ? cos I thought we don't bend the arms anyway during recovery in butterfly.

Hey, coach. My son is 10 years old from 3 years old, he trains to swim and he is very good. But in my country, there is no support for this talent. Are we going to have any club that supports these ages?
