Trap - Movie Review

M. Night Shyamalan brings us a thriller with an interesting premise; a serial killer trying to escape a concert, which is actually a trap....does the execution do the premise justice? Here's my review for TRAP!

Mark this day, ladies and gentlemen:

The day Jeremy Jahns made a brand new rating.

All you need to know is the pop star was fully informed of the situation at hand, yet allowed a stranger to speak with her in private inside her dressing room alone with the door shut.

Shyamalan so powerful a filmmaker he got Jeremy to create a new rating... what a twist!

Edit: I’m sorry how many likes?! Very cool, thank you guys

The first half of this movie felt like a hitman game adaptation and I loved it. Scout area, take out person, no killing, change outfit, scout area, find intel, change outfit.... Then the second half came.

Shyamalan loves his twists. So I thought the twist was going to be that the daughter was the serial killer and the father knows and is trying to protect her or something like that.

Regardless of if this movie is good or bad, it’s great to see Josh Hartnett at the forefront of a movie again. Dude was the man in 30 Days of Night.
Edit: This might be the first mass liked YouTube comment that has no arguments, just Josh Hartnett love 🤣 also thanks for the movie recommendations y’all!

1:03 It's said that whenever M. Night Shyamalan makes a film, the Gods flip a coin into the air, and the world holds its breath to see how it will land.

Movie wasn’t as good as I hoped it would be. But Josh Hartnett was awesome in this.

Kid Cudi cosplaying as Lil Nas X was hilarious.

Bro this film had me so angry with the ridiculous plot holes that I nearly left, I've never left a movie theater ever.

The movie falls apart as soon as the concert is over. And the director's daughter simply can't act... which hurts the movie almost as much as the script in the second half (which has you rolling your eyes very much). 4/10

My exact same issues with the movie, Jeremy. Josh Hartnett at least killed it throughout but they should've kept it shorter and in the concert setting entirely. That was the entire selling point of the movie

Split was a surprise, I didn't think it would be good. Than glass was horrible when I hoped it would be good 😂

“Watch the first half on streaming then stop.” Oh please let that be a new rating. Jeremy I have watched you ever since your Revenge of the Fallen review and you crack me the hell up. Thank you for all the awesome reviews, the laughs and the memories. I have recommended you to my buds for years and you are the best. Thank you man.

Say what you will about M. Night, but he keeps making unique films in a time when most of Hollywood are making generic blockbusters! Gotta give him props for that!

*Spoiler Alert*
I just saw the film. In the stadium, Josh's character was considered an UNSUB. So, if no one knew what he looked like, he should have finished watching the concert with daughter and left.

Finally saw it last night, and I think Josh Hartnett CRUSHED it. I see what you meant about some of the awkwardness/stiffness, but my impression was that it was 100% deliberate, and lent itself perfectly to the story. I'm a fan of this one.
