Trap - Movie Review

M. Night Shyamalan brings us a thriller with an interesting premise; a serial killer trying to escape a concert, which is actually a trap....does the execution do the premise justice? Here's my review for TRAP!

The first half of this movie felt like a hitman game adaptation and I loved it. Scout area, take out person, no killing, change outfit, scout area, find intel, change outfit.... Then the second half came.

Shyamalan loves his twists. So I thought the twist was going to be that the daughter was the serial killer and the father knows and is trying to protect her or something like that.

Regardless of if this movie is good or bad, it’s great to see Josh Hartnett at the forefront of a movie again. Dude was the man in 30 Days of Night.

The movie falls apart as soon as the concert is over. And the director's daughter simply can't act... which hurts the movie almost as much as the script in the second half (which has you rolling your eyes very much). 4/10

My exact same issues with the movie, Jeremy. Josh Hartnett at least killed it throughout but they should've kept it shorter and in the concert setting entirely. That was the entire selling point of the movie

Say what you will about M. Night, but he keeps making unique films in a time when most of Hollywood are making generic blockbusters! Gotta give him props for that!

I just saw the film. In the stadium, Josh's character was considered an UNSUB. So, if no one knew what he looked like, he should have finished watching the concert with daughter and left.

Finally saw it last night, and I think Josh Hartnett CRUSHED it. I see what you meant about some of the awkwardness/stiffness, but my impression was that it was 100% deliberate, and lent itself perfectly to the story. I'm a fan of this one.
