The twist was he trapped us into watching his daughter do a concert for an hour.

I thought the twist was going to be that his daughter was the true killer and he just loved her enough to try to cover for her... not that it was just a framing device to give M's daughter an hour long concert and for her to be the hero...

So, the twist is...

There is no twist? 😢

Trapping 30, 000 women and teenage girls in a stadium with a serial killer based on a tip with no idea of what the killer looks like is peak stupidity.

Trap had a really strong setup (no pun intended). But it needed just a wee bit more brainstorming to further the plot. The movie didn’t know where to go. The first half, where the movie was restricted inside the concert was amazing! The moment the story shifts outside, there is no trap! The concert was supposed to be a trap to catch Cooper, the moment he’s out he has won! If only they could’ve included the people inside the concert to help the fbi or maybe included some backstory of Cooper’s victim to the plot and still made him win. Then the movie would’ve really taken off!

A better twist would have been that he wasn't actually the Butcher, but just another random serial killer, but was afraid that as the police were searching, he'd get caught in the same web. Then he figures out who the real Butcher is, and blackmails him to help him escape. The butcher reluctantly agrees, but lays his own trap, where Josh ends up taking the fall, and the butcher escapes kidnapping his daughter. grim ending but hell ya.

Anyone else leave the movie feeling that Cooper is a new villain in the Unbreakable universe?

The ending became silly with him always escaping

SPOILER ALERT: the premise is dumb as h*ll. If the mom/wife suspected he was the killer and collaborated with the FBI on a sting operation, why would a loving mom in essence let her teen daughter go to this concert with him with a sting operation where he could freak out and is liable to do anything to evade being apprehended like take the daughter hostage? So you use your own daughter as bait, not to mention you endanger the lives of 20, 000 concertgoers. Great writing lol

Haven’t see the film but i think a cool twist would be if Josh Harnett was indeed a serial killer (but not this Butcher killer) so then he takes down the Butcher killer and looks like a hero (while he is in fact still a serial killer himself) 🤷‍♂️

We knew Cooper was the killer from the commercials. The biggest issue is that the wife thinks he might be the killer, but doesn't decide to give a picture of him to the cops. Something that would have made it easier to catch him using plains clothes officers instead of stuffing the arena full of police and FBI agents with full battle rattle.

The twist is he gave way too much time to his daughter, had no business in the story after they left the concert

The real twist is when I thought I just farted in the theater but it started running down my leg.

The twist was he was the killer. And marketing should never given away this in the trailers. Audiences should have gone in thinking Josh was the hero. Then bam -- he's the bad guy? Imagine starting the movie and having all your preconceived notions thrown out in 15mins. Big, big miss by marketing.

The twist was that we needed to sit through the concert as well

My thoughts while watching:

- ok this a pretty cool concept
- catchy song, but why’s it playing so long?
- entertaining so far; Josh has become a great actor
- another full song? Ok, sure..
- can’t really see what it’s building towards, but I’m excited for a twist!
- oh.. we’re out of the venue now, this has lost some appeal
- the wife is gonna be in on it, right
- right..?
- huh.. underwhelming but I guess it’s just a bit of character building for the “Glass/Split” universe

- I guess not.. 4/10, started really well but ultimately finished extremely underwhelmed and missed a ton of great opportunities.

I wouldn't be suprised if it takes place in the same universe as split, unbreakable etc.. he shows amazing strength when the cops take him down, tazed twice, drugged and still is able to unleash a force to take down an officer and almost crush with his hands. Also in the video footage of the abduction, he pulls his victim in the van with unhuman strength.

The twist was Cooper outing himself to Lady Raven and forcing her hand, instead of trying to stealthily escape the concert.

A better version of the story should’ve been having Josh Harnett play different characters, all trying to escape the concert because they think it’s for them and have every character up until the last being unsuccessful/a red herring and the antics to escaping escalating to an escape.

Cooper acts like the killer straight away. Then he is the killer. Whoa! Crazy twist.
