Most often I stick to face pulls on rings. To get the 90° angle at the cable machine I use two ropes, one for each hand.

Tore my rotator cuff two weeks ago. I'm going to try adding this to my (homemade) rehab program !

I do them with angles higher than 90 degrees in the ellbow joints. Like you get in a more narrow W position. With that 1. you cancel out the biceps and 2. you more effectively hit the rotator cuff! Try it and feel the difference!

I never felt face pulls with cables that well but after doing rings I can totally destroy the rear delts

I rather do more weighted Pull up stuff and also high weighted Scapula pull ups.

If i do much over head pulling i often feel already kinda exhausted in my shoulders.

All i do sometimes are swimmers on the ground with 1, 5kg or even 4kg, but there u have only the Max Ranges of the Shoulder Cuff, no over mid Cuff rotations.

I love, love ring Y raises. I feel like they hit my side delts better than ring or cable facepulls

Im gonna argue lightly that the pull portion doesn't do anything for the actual deltoids; they follow the bead of the dominant tendon stretching and flexing- in this case the teres major and both infra- as well as sub-scapulars. Fixing the elbows out to the sides perpendicular to the floor and pulling back is the same yhing- i do it w dumbBs at 35 but calisthenics guys can move plates and plates this way

I have an issue with the ring face pulls, in order to make the intensity large enough to stimulate the traps, it completely prevents me from getting a full contraction in the rear delts in the final part of the movement. Should I make it easier until I can get my arms parallel to my back or just keep repping partials?

If I don't have rings is there another exercise like it? I mainly want it for rear delts and rotator cuffs, I only do calisthenics with no equipment (just a pull up bar)
