Missed the one that I have been doing for years to archive or consolidate media from several drives to one - In Resolve ( when it is open on a project) top men - File>Media Management - a window opens where you can not only consolidate the media but sae only the used media with frame handles - and when storing an old client project - takes way less storage space to do so. Media Management is one of those overlooked features in Resolve - not only can you copy a whole project, you can. copy a timeline or just the clips.
You can also transcode the codecs as well - still choosing to do so as all media, of just used media.
It is by far, my preferred method.
It would be especially a method for editors to send to a project for a colorist for color work. All the clips would be smaller and still have the frame handles to add transitions after grading.

thanks, but im stuck and dont think i can solve this. i was running davinci on a HD that i tried to clone because i was getting low on space (with os win 10) / during migration, something odd happened . i can no longer run windows from that drive, and didnt backup davinci project!, i reinstalled windows and davinci on a new HD, im able to see the old hd files, and anything davinic related . the question now is, can i somehow have the new davinci on the new hd somehow load the projects or files, as files on other drive are still intact . thanks!

One question: what about the 2 folders ("Gallery" and "cacheClip") that come when u install Davinci on your pc? I mean, can't I just copy and paste these 2 folders on my new pc for restoring my old pc projects?
