How To Save Davinci Resolve Projects and Move Them Between Computers

Save and move around your Davinci Resolve project file.

To save your project just go file and save, name it, and that’s it.
Pretty straight forward.
Now if you want to open your saved files go to file, project manager and right click on your save file and click open.

Now let’s move our save file to another computer.

Go to the project manager, right click on the save file and click export project.

Be aware that this is not a real export into a movie clip, it’s just an export of the save file.
To export your project into a video go file, and click, for example, quick export.

Now you can move project files between computers.
But don’t forget that this is just a save file, you also need to transfer your images or videos that you used in your project.

Let me show you.

If I remove video from my folder and try to open the project, the media will go red.
Now all you need is to bring back the video, or right click on the media and select relink media.

This will automatically find your media and add it to the project so you can continue to work where you stopped.

So make sure to ship all your images and videos with the save file you want to move.

Too fast, where are all the audio and video files moved to? Are they moved? How do you make sure everything is on the same external drive if changing computers and to avoid some files being left on the internal drive?
