Windows 11 June 2024 update (KB5039302) - new features and changes

The KB5039302 update for Windows 11 versions 23H2 and 22H2 (build 22631.3810 and 22621.3810 - and build 22631.3807 and 22621.3807 for Release Preview) brings multiple new features and improvements - even more continuous delivery, just a month after the notable KB5037853 update.

Copilot in Windows has become a PWA - it is now a standalone app which behaves like any other app would, no longer being docked to the right of your desktop*. File Explorer now has native support for compressing files to 7z and TAR archives*, Windows Share now has a copy file button* and Emoji 15.1 support is coming too, letting you use new emoji like a phoenix and horizontal/vertical head shaking*. Task Manager has gained several changes and improvements including updated units for DDR memory speed (MT/s), and there are several other fixes and improvements.

*Gradually rolling out, not all users will have the features initially. To get them as soon as possible, turn on Get the latest updates as soon as they're available in Windows Update settings.

June 14th: It should be noted that the Copilot changes aren't rolling out to Insiders in Release Preview just yet. Still mentioned in that blog post, no strikethrough, so should start rolling out later.

wow, compressed files are becoming very complete and integrated. They just need the explorer to add giant thumbnail sizes to your liking to be complete. I leave Insider builds some time ago, and for some Videocard rollback issues every update really polish the system, more fast boot times and faster apps launch, less memory, more responsive, clever, minimalist.
