I always upgrade to a new version of unsupported Windows 11 from the desktop with Rufus, so I can keep everything. You just have to change how updates are received & click on not now. It may fail on the first go, if it does I restart my PC & try again. It always works for me this way.

24H2 won’t get updates in my house, it will never even be there. Because Microsoft invalidated my win 10 PROFESSIONAL FULL RETAIL LICENCE KEY when I changed my motherboard and forced me to sign in with a Microsoft account to access MY OWN PC! Windows got dumped, hotmail account closed. NEVER using windows or any Microsoft product again. Ever. I use Linux now and it’s pretty darned good.

Happy to have found you I thought you were gone. Question: Why are Microsoft and Firefox perstering me to join them. What does that mean? What are they talking about?

When is the 24H2 update for Windows 11 expected to be released for those who are not in the Insider version?

Yes, the question is when you say I have to reinstall are we talking about safer example we’re on 24 H2 and we want to move to 25 H2 or I guess right now 23 H2 and we want to move to 24 two. The question is when you say reinstalled, do you mean a clean fresh reinstall or do you mean an in place upgrade where you make it with Rufus and then you would just do the in place upgrade over it with Rufus that’s what I’m unsure about. I hope we don’t have to actually reinstall windows from scratch from one version of windows 11 to another. So clarification would be greatly appreciated.

You don't have to reinstall Windows updates. There are plenty of YT video on how to upgrade to a new release on a non supported PC. I've done it several times.

Maybe users running Windows 10 then shall make a clean install with Rufus and run Windows 11 instead.
Then the pc can run a year more then on Windows 10 that ends support ocktober next year.

On an unsupported PC you may not be able to upgrade to new versions on Windows Update

Why don't they just let people upgrade like they did with Windows 10 and knock it off with the gimmick if people can bypass to Windows 11 glad to know unsupported PCs will get security updates but they need to removed the CPU and TPM2.0 requirements if they can get hacked.

Sorry, I'm confused. Is a new version just a manual update, or a complete fresh install? Thanks

Ha! Although my old system upgraded itself to Win-11 22H2 without asking me, it won't install 23H2 or 24H2 saying my computer isn't good enough. Nonsense, it runs Windows 11 22H2 just like it did Windows 10 and I don't need a more expensive system to do anything! Micro$oft continues to shoot themselves in the foot with their absurd hardware requirements for their newer OS's, especially when many older systems can still do everything perfectly!
