Do you have a choice?

WHEN SOFTWARE MAKERS STOP software from running on win 7.
CAN YOU officially run it on your old pc. NO.

MOD WIN 11
11 GO RUN, yes.

Steam force me to upgrade from win 7.

You can update win 11 on a mod pc..., force a upgrade over it.

Win11 is great. If you use VR I suugest you disable hardware aceleration graphics (HAGS). This is enabled as a default with win11.

there's no reason for them to have removed the option for left and right task bar

My issues with W11 is the start menu and the taskbar and explorer interface and right-click. These can all be fixed with tweaks or programs, but MS is constantly breaking such tweaks crippling the system with every update. MS is directly messing with the consumer. I also will not use and intentionally disable the TPM and any device encryption, but still have zero trust in MS just doing it anyway and bricking my PC someday. Sorry not using W11 for anything important.

The security feature TPM 2.0 which you need for your pc to be eligible for upgrade to Windows 11 is very likely to be on your hardware already, but disabled. To enable it, you would enable it in your bios. I had to look online for how to do this specifically for my motherboard. You can tell exactly what motherboard you have by entering the bios, and within the bios you may also simply see the option there. You obviously don't want to change anything else in your bios, since who knows what it might do, it could even damage your computer I'm sure. But anyway,
when I was checking to see if my computer could be upgraded to windows 11, it said it didn't have TPM 2.0 and therefore was not eligible. But that was because it was simply disabled in my bios. after I enabled it, windows now says this pc can be upgraded. Easy as that
I still do not plan to upgrade to windows 11 for a while... we still have until October of 2025 and I plan to change over before then, but not at the last minute. Maybe a few months prior to that, like in June or something. Hope this helps

“ Also, in the future, you will have no option, but to upgrade to Windows 11…“. Incorrect. A company called OPatch is offering security updates for windows 10 for a modest annual fee for at least five years after Windows 10 reaches its end of life. By then, windows 12 or even 13 will be available.

I need to keep four windows open at a time for work. I have been reluctant to upgrade, but now I must because Slack won't work on my fully-functioning Windows 7 setup. How do you/can you setup Windows 11 to accomplish this -- having multiple windows open on one monitor?
