WHY DID YOU LEAVE YOUR LAST JOB INTERVIEW TIPS:
TIP #1 – Do not be negative about your former employer.
If you are, you will not get hired!

TIP #2 – Keep the reason why you are leaving short, and to the point.
If you keep talking about why you are leaving, the interviewer will get suspicious.

TIP #3 – If you have been made redundant or you have lost your job due to Covid, I will tell you what to say later in the tutorial.

TIP #4 – If you are leaving your job soon after starting, (within 6 months) you need to answer this question very carefully!

TIP #5 – If you have been fired I will give you some tips and advice for answering the question so you don’t harm your chances!

(10 GREAT REASONS FOR LEAVING A JOB!) 02:35
REASON #1 - You feel you have reached your full potential and you are now looking for a new challenge with an exciting and ambitious company.
This tells the interviewer you are ambitious and you want to keep moving forward.

REASON #2 – You are no longer finding your work fulfilling, and you want a job where your skills and qualities will be put to good use.
Remember – we spend a lot of time at work, and it is only natural that you want that time spent to be productive and enjoyable.

REASON #3 – The company was going through a restructuring.
This happens all the time, and leaving a job for this reason is perfectly valid. Say the company had changed direction and whilst you are supportive of change, you felt you wanted to go in a different direction.

REASON #4 – You want to work for a company where you will have more opportunities.
These opportunities could be to progress via promotion within the company, or the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects or tasks.

REASON #5 – There was nothing else new to learn.
You learned a tremendous amount in the position and the company was very supportive but you now want to learn new things because this will help you to progress personally and professionally.

REASON #6 – You want more responsibility!
This is a great reason to give for leaving a company.
You could say that you have spoken to your manager about being given more responsibility but none was available, so you decided to seek employment with a new company.
Say that you enjoy having responsibility and you want to feel you are contributing to an organization’s goals.

REASON #7 – You want a job that is aligned to your personal goals!
We all have goals we want to achieve outside of work. Whether it’s saving up to buy a house, or working towards getting married, you can only achieve your life goals if you have a job that helps you get there. Leaving a job to find work that enables you to reach your personal goals quicker, is a perfectly valid reason!

REASON #8 – You want a job closer to home.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to travel less. Not only does less travel reduce stress, it also saves you money, too. Therefore, saying you want to leave your job to get a position closer to home is perfectly acceptable.

REASON #9 – You want a job that offers more security.
You could say that in your current job there has been talk of restructuring and even potential redundancies. On that basis, you have been looking for a new job with an ambitious company where you will get to grow long-term with the team you are a part of.”

REASON #10 – You want to work for a company with a great reputation.
“Your company has a brilliant reputation and I would feel incredibly proud to work for you. The opportunities I would have whilst working here are very appealing and I would not hesitate in leaving my current job to work for you.”

Three month ago, I found your channel few hours before my interview. Surprisingly, I gained a lot of confidence during interview. Right after I leave the interview room, I knew I could get that job. Around 3 weeks after that, I got hired. Thank you so much Sir.

I never comment, but today I just wanted to say thank you, your video on calming interview stress was very helpful for me, and generally how to relate competences to the job description when answering questions.
I did get my dream job, even when I didn’t have much experience and still a student. You do such a great job and thank you for helping us climb the career ladder.

Good Day fellow Project Managers. I want to share my experience with Richards material. I had been looking for a job for months I seen Richards material and peaked my interest so I sent him a note and he responded right. Provided me access to additional materials he had. I was having and interview the following day, aced it started the job two weeks ago. If you just get half of Richards materials worked into your interview skills you are sure to ace the interview. From the bottom of my heart Thank You Richard. Everyone should take advantage of your videos. I would very much recommend to anyone looking to ace their next interview. Thank you again Richard form helping to get me back on the job. You are amazing.

Richard, thank you so much for your advice. One thing that I would like you to address, however, is how to answer the question "Why were you laid off or fired? I know it is a part of the category "Why did you leave your job?" But being laid off is often not the employee's fault, and, or, some people are fired because they simply did not get along with their boss. Please complete a video on how to answer that question under those circumstances. Thank you.
