I'm a big fan of the classic combo - chopped dates and walnuts. It's my go to snack. Something this delicious has no business also being so healthy.

Remember if you want your dried fruit to go further, you can re-hydrate them overnight, eg prunes, sultanas, raisins, currents and then you don't have to add so many to your breakfast bowl.

Prunes are also very rich in antioxidants. They're part of my regular breakfast along with raisins in my porridge which scored highest in alkaline on the PRAL list and goji berries in my porridge too along with boiled banana water to kill that enzyme that everyone's worried about. In addition to dried fruits, fresh or frozen fruits are healthy and just fine, Dr. Greger also has a video on the portfolio diet that says you don't have to limit your fruit intake.

A recent study found glyphosate in several brands of grape juice & apple juice as well as wine & beer. So I no longer consume any grape or apple products.

I eat those every day, I soak them in warm almond milk for a while. They help me to sleep better ❤

Unless raisins are soaked in some type of seed oil such as commercial treated raisins, then ldl can be oxidised

I wish they wouldn't add Canola Oil to raisins. Whole Foods and other stores do list it as an ingredient.

Oh ha ha my guess was going to be raisins or prunes but I guess I’m wrong! 😅

As a rule of thumb, if something is truly not recommended for pregnant women (meaning, there is a real question concerning safety, and not unwarranted worry), then *don't eat it.* Could there be exceptions? Sure. But the burden of proof is higher, and shifts to whoever is recommending it.

I'm going to guess goji-berries, if it's not some absurd hard-to-get thing.

I’ve cut out cake and biscuits (cookies) at tea-time and switched to half an apple, one fig, two prunes, two Brazil nuts and a teaspoon of crunchy peanut butter. I don’t crave anything sugary - ever - now.

There is nothing wrong with anything high glycemic. If anything, higher glycemic is better. Whole potatoes are higher glycemic than dried fruit.

Plus, if I fancy something a bit sweet, I have a medjool date.

Too expensive to buy. Not a health risk.
