Pet peeve: unsolicited opinions/ advice. If I ain’t ask, keep it to yourself.

Being honest is telling people what u think when they ask. Being rude is giving ur two cents when noone asked.

The trick to not being rude is to know who you’re talking to, that’s it. It’s different for everyone, if you’re not sure go with the nicest way possible.

I agree with Adrienne. I think we have a serious problem with throwing our "wisdom" onto others. If all you're getting out of it is making yourself feel better and your "friend" smaller, that's not keeping it 💯, it's being selfish.

Adrienne is right, if nobody asked for your opinion, keep it to yourself. And if you don't be prepared for the backlash.

It's the intent. Honesty is out of love and consideration. The intent of being rude is just to upset someone in some way.

I heard this quote once and it has stuck with me since, "Honesty without tact is cruelty."

Being African I’ve built a thick skin cause it seems like unsolicited advise and commentary comes at you from every angle 🤷‍♀️ personally I lead with kindness.

Being honest in itself is just telling the truth, being genuine & sincere/authentic ; being rude is when someone is telling the truth but demeaning someone & destroying the person’s confidence & feelings in the name of honesty . There is a way to be honest without being derogatory, call it sugar coating or whatever you want but tough love isn’t for everyone 🤷🏽‍♀️

In my opinion... like Tam said “ It’s not what you say, it’s how you say it “ so as long as the delivery is said without being sugarcoated or being harsh and just being 100% honest and coming from a place of love then there shouldn’t be a problem !

I think it depends on who you are talking to.. I could tell my sister “oh girl, ur breath smells like poison” and she won’t get offended but i wouldn’t say that to a person I’m not close to..

I grew up with too many girls that always thought they were being "honest" when really they were rude. As the way Adrienne described.

"is not what you say, is how say it" this is something that you should ALWAYS remember. Thanks Tam!! 💕👏👏

First time getting here when there's zero views. I love the Real. It's refreshing to keep things REAL.

Adrienne FOR REALS!! people that are walking around telling people “the truth” are the most self conscious people I know...

LOL! I've definitely had a jealous "friend" that would make rude comments especially about my appearance and then turn around and say, "do you want me to lie? i'm just being honest". I'm a million times prettier and have better style than her but she would take even opportunity to try to put me down.

It’s called being tactful. Learning the difference between rude and real takes some effort as well as being able to be introspective

Being honest, tactful, and kind is the way to go. There’s just too much rudeness in the world already. ❤️
