My fear for our day is that churches do believe and teach Calvinism, and yet find themselves no longer having a message for sinners.

Nothing but wickedness makes repentance difficult, it's nothing but loving something more than Christ that makes it difficult for a man to repent. - Tim Conway

So, what do you say about “all day long I held my hand out to a wicked and contrary nation”… that does not appear to be irresistible, they resisted. It would appear that God/Jesus does not say “hey, come to me” as like a little trick so that he can say AHA! You can’t. I think when he asks, and he asks many, he’s GENUINELY asking. No?

Or how about when God says if you fail to warn the wicked, their blood is on your hands. I hear that you are attempting to create a balance, but really, if irresistible grace is true, and if God literally creates people for the purpose of hell, there is no balance! It is what it is. But honestly, quite a lot of the idea that God creates people for the purpose of hell simply does not align with the great majority of the entire Bible— from start to finish.

Sad that this guy Phil Johnson is worried that hyper Calvinism is a threat to true Calvinism and not a threat to the Gospel. What are you most worried about. Your position on how you view the gospel or that the word of God is being shared. Calvinism needs to be done away with. It is a stumbling block for sharing the gospel. This problem only makes me think Calvinism is being done away by God.
