I am a convicted felon who has worked my ass off to be respected again by the community I grew up in and to regain my right to own and carry a firearm. I committed my felony 20 years ago and regained the right to carry a firearm 8 years ago. While I was barred from owning and having the possession or control of a firearm, I had plenty of opportunities to acquire or purchase one from other felons. I came to the conclusion a long time ago that no amount of firearm restrictions will ever stop a prohibited person from acquiring one by illegal means like downright theft. It is asinine to saddle law abiding citizens with firearm restrictions. Those restrictions only apply to people willing to abide by them, in other words, "law abiding citizens". Not one person that I ever knew who was a felon worried for one second that there were firearm laws in place. In fact, I never heard it even mentioned except when a dude I was in jail with mentioned how easy it would be to knock over a certain store and another of the inmates said, no that guy that works there carries a gun. So the guy decided not to, and that was in jail! Laws that prevent the carrying of firearms in certain areas make those areas the places that criminals are most likely to chose to rob because of the perceived lack of protection for those people in those areas. As an ex-con, I am here to tell you that gun laws don't protect anyone. Criminals don't give a shit about them. And just to pat myself on the back for turning my life around....I have not had even a traffic ticket in the 20 years I have been out of jail. It takes a long time to build trust, and just a second to lose it. I am a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment. Having been in jail, I have a great insight in how well our laws work. They worked for me because I didn't want to return to jail. There is a significant population of offenders who don't care if they are behind bars or not. They do care if they are shot. Now that is a real deterrence! Protect the 2nd Amendment. Firearms are your only protection, the courts sure aren't doing it.

You stick with it and dont give up! Whenever I get into a conversation with someone like that, about ANYTHING, I be extra polite and I talk softer so they have to be quiet to hear me. Many times it made others tell them to shut up to hear me and even one time one of their friends called them an ass and slugged him in the arm. Took my side after that.

Occupy the NRA banned me also. I was very polite and tried to have an open discussion but I learned it was a real "my way or the highway" type of group think. I felt genuinely sad when they resorted to name calling not because it hurt my feelings, but after the first insult was thrown my way I knew reaching out to them and having a rational fact based discussion was an impossibility. Great channel sir, your philosophies are spot on and keep up the good work!

Piers Morgan or Ed from MSNBC needs to interview you. You can connect with the various demographics. youth, normal calm intelligent gun enthusiasts, African American. Most young, intelligent black American are anti gun and it would be nice to see you speak about the 2A, gun bans, self defense and school shootings from a person who is not white or not a crazy conspiracy theorists, not old, and not intimidated by media bullies who like to talk over or change the subject to try and derail the topic
