I originally play with common 2 fingers technique. Then for years I play with thumb, sometime aided by my index (almost an appoyando technique like acoustic guitarist does, not slap, though) . Since years ago I exclusively play using pick. I like the attack, the sound, the clear intonation and the feel by using a pick so I continue. But it depends, I would use anything (at least three of them), whichever I feel best for the song/moment.
And actually even with one way to pick a bass, it can be so many options. Like where you attack the strings, how, and etc.

Pick haters just need to stop. As long as u make music with passion, then seriously who cares if u use a pick of fingers. It really doesn't matter, people just wanna hate on what's different and or better then what they can do.
