The idea is tearing the muscle to a certain point and having a certain ideal time for recover to then have a set idea for tearing again. It’s all on paper and theoretical at the end of the day. When tested it doesn’t mean much wether it’s 30 reps low weight or 5 reps high. As long as you tear the muscle and come close to failure you are where you need to be for progress.

For growth, 6-8 sets of 8-12 reps per muscle (with 3 to zero reps in reserve), per session, is optimal for the most growth with the least fatigue. Forcus on perfect form, a slow eccentric, squeeze at the top, pause at the bottom. More sets start to have diminishing returns. Shorter sets (3-6reps) close or to failure are "generally" better for strength training. Both are generalizations but are great starting points. If you cant recover before the next session, drop in volume until you hone it in. Once you can execute each set with PERFECT form, then increase volume.

bro no its not like "only" in 8 to 12 ur primaly focuse muscle but it doesnt mean u are not building strength but the benefits is just more to muscle in this rep range while to other 1 to 7 ur most benefiting strength but thats doesnt mean ur building zero muscle but the thing is ur just focusing on more strength

It's about making your muscles adapt to the new standards that they are set to, for example you lift 3kg before, but now you decide to move to higher weights like 7 kg, your muscles ache a little in the beginning cuz it's their first time in those standards, but as you keep training them in that standard, they adapt to it

Cap, you can build muscle in one rep range all the way to 100 or beyond its just giving your body a challenge ain't matter what it is

It seems crazy but I get tried at 25 reps with 10 pound since I’m 11 but I can do around 75 reps. I don’t know how but I just can. It’s super weird and I’m only 85 pounds, I would’ve done 15 pounds for 15-20 but I couldn’t find the other 15 pound weight. I bet some cross-fitter only bought one of them.

I mean he is right, it's training to failure or close to it, if that's 3 or 13 reps then that'll work too

If I’m not close to failure I’ll push to 15 and I fail around that

Good because there’s nothing that I do in the 12 or under rep range except things that are hard because it’s 104 degrees on a normal day for me
