How I got my chest to blow up without bench press was weighted-deficit-decline push ups, and this is all together. When you go down, make sure you feel the stretch on your chest, then hold it for a sec or 2, then explode up squeezing chest then down again slow. GUARANTEED gains and insane pump. 12/15 rep range maybe start off without weights and remember you have to form sort of an arrow shape with arms(elbows) and not a T. Drop set with regular decline(or if already using weihhts and deficits, DS without weights no more than 20 reps) control eccentric

And we have to mention: do 30 slow push-ups with good form is not that easy. Its a long way to the point of adding weights.

I think he meant if you can reach failure to the 5-30th rep range that means you are training for hypertrophy but if you could do more than that that means you are training for endurance you can add weight to your pushups by wearing a heavy bag (find a weight that can make you reach failure at the 5-30th rep) so you could reach failure to the 5-30th rep or you could slow down your reps

In order to activate fast twitch you need to push weight ”you can only do few reps with” so just doing fewer reps does not engage fast twitch fibers more.

A better advice would be to practice one armed pushups or push up techniques that make the weight greater so you can only do reps within the hypotrophy range before failure.

Had been doing 50 push ups every morning and i didn't notice my chest grew until some one told my chest is growing (+10 every month)
