The problem is that the ego is connected or rather resides within the intellectualized part
of the mind. The ego rules. It is always right. It's great and better than you. So when
confronted with information that proves the individuals weaknesses, rather than
acknowledge the fact, the ego when 'challenged', it's #1, it utilizes self deception.
By doing that the individual still can maintain it's sense of greatness that the ego
requires. The result, a fool is convinced they are a genius by means of self deception.

Self deception works against our awareness and it is one of man's greatest problems.
Or in other words, the whole mental process is probably flawed and almost all humans
are not aware of this problem.

The more educated you become the more you realize you don’t know anything.

I personally think that toxic people who spend time gossiping, criticizing and laughing at others are all perfect examples of the dunning kruger effect. Confident, happy, and content people don't have time to bolster ego by tearing others apart.

My mum once poured hot melted candle wax down the sink drain while the water was running and it cooled down quickly and blocked it... She blamed me... Because it was my candle.

I'm basically always aware of my incompetence. I wish I wasn't, because it makes me depressed

A smart person is much more likely to call themselves stupid from my experience since they understand their own weaknesses and limitations

Knowing too much about the universe can give you nightmares.

Knowing very little gives you a soft blanket.

The more educated I have become, the more insecure I am about my breadth of knowledge. I often look things up just to double check myself. When I was a teenager I thought I knew everything.

Never assume you know everything because someone gonna point out to you you don’t, that or you’ll likely gonna look like a fool to everyone once it’s proven how little you know

I believe this effect is stronger than we might realize. Is it possible the entire human race is trapped in this mindset?
