Pure gold tips Andy. Exceeded expectations. I wrongly assumed this would require PowerShell.

The search function never stopped working at one point and I never knew why. With your video I was able to figure out that somehow windows had excluded my drives for some unknown reason ?? but now I was able to put them back to be search .Thanks

I learned a neat trick from the US Navy. At the bottom of ALL documents, in VERY small font
will be found the documents PATH-->network-server name-drive-folder-filename. If the document
is in hardcopy this will be printed at the bottom making it REAL easy to find.

This is all very interesting and helpful. I did not realize Windows has all these search options. However, I still prefer saving files in an old-fashioned tree structure, which works better for me. The only problem with this is that it takes time to move all new files to their correct subfolder. I find the basic Search tab in Windows to be totally useless because it brings up long lists of items that are not even files. I am a long time user of Windows, having started with Version 1, and even going back before Windows existed. I have found file searching increasingly exasperating over the years. Looks like I must devote time to rewatching and learning from this video. Thank you, nice information.

Thank you for your video. I have a little problem; perhaps I'm doing something wrong. I'm new to W10 and I can't obtain any results if type a specific word which I know is in the body of some of my Word documents. e.g. I need a Word document that contains the word "Maryland". Windows 7 would look for the specific word in the specified folder and sub-folders. Windows 10 shows me nothing in the search results.

Im trying to delete duplicate photos and I'm searching (1) in the folder, it only highlights the filenames with (1) but shows every picture in the folder still. I want the search to only produce the pictures with (1) in the file name so I can select all and delete. Any help with this would be great.
