I feel like the reviewer doesn't understand the Mini's position in the line-up. It's NOT supposed to be a laptop replacement. Basically, ALL the other iPads have a keyboard option if you want one. It's not supposed to be a power tool. It's more of a Kindle alternative / digital journal / YouTube machine. Also, a mini pencil?

Sad so sad. All I wanted was 120hz in order to upgrade from my mini 6. Just one feature 😢

What we needed: OLED, 120hz, better battery life, thinner modernized borders. But we got this. I love my Mini and have been hungry to upgrade. Love it so much more than my heavy, bulky iPad for portability and anything entertainment or social media related. This upgrade feels like Apple is trolling its iPad Mini users though, even though its pricing still positions it as the coupe of their tablet lineup. Never imagined 2024 would be the year I started to fall out of love with Apple as a company.

I don’t want bigger for my carry-😊around. The mini is the size of a paperback and that just works for me. I agree on the smaller pencil, brighter display, faster refresh. Give it some love and get it in the m series, but don’t make it bigger. Some of us want the smaller option.

The IPad mini isn’t supposed to be a computer like you’re saying it’s for those people that want to stay in the apple ecosystem and read books, watch movies and YouTube. Play games even. If you want to use it as a computer get a bigger iPad or a MacBook.

I still have the ipad mini 2. I used it for watching movies in bed and YouTube. Few weeks ago it told me that my device is not supported anymore. 😢 why not. It works fine!

Last year’s iPad at next year’s price! Apple’s innovation department must be on vacation… 3 years of waiting, & they drop this dud?

What we really want:
• OLED
• 120Hz refresh, so it moves faster than a PowerPoint presentation
• Bezels that don’t look like they were pulled from the iPad museum’s 2010 exhibit 🦖

But hey, why bother putting in effort when you can slap last year’s leftover parts together & sell it at full price? It’s recycling … except it costs you $600 💀

Mine’s arriving tomorrow. Upgrading from the 2019 5th Gen. The lack of Pro Motion means that, when I upgrade my iPhone 13 Mini, I don’t need to go down the Pro route.

Thanks for the content.

The incompatibility with the apple pencil 2 is kind of weird, I wonder for what reason?

I may be among the few who missed the physical home button on iOS devices. So much so that I switched to android for the simpler navigation. Don't regret it.

They should have made it a little bigger. Maybe 8.8 to 9 inches. Changed the chassis with thinner bezels, pro motion, anti reflective screen, and Face ID. I can’t see why someone would upgrade from the mini 6.

With the rise of larger phones and folding devices, I believe we were fortunate to see one more refresh of the iPad Mini. When it originally launched, it sold over 80 million units in its first year, but now it struggles to sell just 5 million annually. I suspect Apple's margins on this product are low. Many other manufacturers have discontinued their mini tablets, and Apple could have chosen to do the same or kept the Mini 6 for another two years.

I think Apple will continue to sell the iPad Mini for three more years, after which they may decide to end the line. Because of this, I plan to buy one, as it is likely to be the last version available.

I hate the bare minimum upgrades apple is doing for this mini but please, the want for a "mini pencil" for a one device iPad mini as a criticism makes zero sense... 🙄

I would buy one if it supported stage manager

It's mini. Thats why I just ordered this one to replace my old mini. I rarely use my iPad Pro because it's just too big and heavy to use causally. It's a sit down device and if I'm going to sit at a table or desk, I'd rather be on a Mac.

People wanted all these high-quality features in a tablet that’s $500 base but don’t realize that price would swell to probably 600 or 650 with those same features.
