Today is the official launch date of the iPad mini 7, which is the first new iPad mini that we've had since 2021. It has a much faster chip and a few other tweaks, so we thought we'd check it out and do a quick review.

It's amazing how many people don't understand the mini. It's an iPad THAT FITS IN MY POCKETS. Also I like the bezel, I don't get the annoying accidental touches from just holding it like I do with the phone.

Went to a regular iPad from an iPad mini. I really miss my old iPad mini. Lighter, smaller, perfect for on the go.

I have a 128 gig mini 4. People spent 499.00 for a mini 6 with 64 gig. There was a 150.00 difference between that and 256 gig.
On the new I pad there is a 100.00 difference.
I am going to buy the 256 gig as I plan to have this iPad a long time. My 128 gig mini 4 lasted 9 years. With AI, you don't know how much memory the other apps are going to eat up so you are covered in that regard. Oh and for the people who don't think this tablet is a seller, Amazon in the UK have sold out of the wi fi only versions.

I also think, regardless of whether you own the Mini 6, I purchased the 7 due to the increased Storage options, Document Scanning support, and, of course, the new Chip and RAM increase, so I believe it is worth it if your existing Mini 6 is running out of storage or acting sluggish.

I would like a ProMotion screen and smaller bezels. As a long-time Apple fan, I'm disappointed with the minimal improvements.

I did it today for the simple fact that the trade in value is great from the 6 to the 7 and I bumped from a restrictive 64gb storage to a more respectable 128gb base storage. AI features will be nice too on an iPad platform.

Something someone brought up is the longevity of the newer chip and ram. Do you think upgrading from a mini 6 to this 7 will really secure a longer lifespan?

I love the iPad mini for it’s size. I take my 6 every time I travel for work and it hasn’t failed me yet; I’m only interested in the 7 for drawing. Thanks for the video.

I've upgraded from the 5th Gen, and went with the Space Grey - not a fan of pastels.

Well done, US Apple fans. Your iPhones might not have SIM trays any more, but at least you got a charging brick with your new iPad Minis. Unbelievable.

LOVE my iPad mini 6 just don't think it's worth upgrading to the 7 or A17 Pro, whatever they are calling it. I'll stick with my Mini 6 for a bit longer.

Jelly scrolling is clearly visible at 0.25x speed, the new display is definitely better

Pretty sure one of your articles said that the display has been flipped 90 degrees. Not sure if that turned out to be true but if so then the jelly scrolling would never show up on portrait scrolling.

I use my iPad mini to read documents and comic books, and since i often travelling with my laptop anyway it's makes sense to bring something small and lighter, and as i'm getting older my wrist can't stand heavier tablet so the mini is perfect for me, i just wish it got a 1Tb option

The iPad Mini and a smartphone is a better user experience than a foldable. You get a real phone and a real tablet that runs tablet apps and games. Foldables run blown up phone apps that aren’t formatted
