I do feel like some dentist can not emphasize how important it is. If I did not know people who have went trough having a dry socket, I probably would have got one. People need to understand that it is dangerous also, because infection can lead straight to your brain if untreated.

I got my wisdom teeth removed lower left and lower right if I'm facing a wall. ( just so you can know what I'm talking about) and it's been 3 days but I removed it on Friday at 10 am, so I count it up to 4 days and my right side hurts but I think it's healed. And my left is like wide open and there's a hole and I can like see something inside the hole I can't tell what is it though. Please help me I'm scared

I got a dry socket and I am sure caring for my 8 month old, right after surgery especially, contributed to that. Worst painful ever...worst than child birth! I stuck it out nearly 3 days before calling to see if that pain was normal. I wish my dentist would have OVER-emphasized about it.

+Dr. Mark Burhenne Wow, that sounds like horrible thing to go through. Can I get dry socket with wisdom teeth extraction? I just got all of mine taken out today, and I already feel like crap. I really don't need anything to hinder my healing process.

My anti biotic prescribed I finished and half way in when was bleeding now it stopped sholud I extend this prescription or let them know about it? I feel I have a dry socket and it might get infected now.

I agree……....it's the worse pain I've endured. It lasted 9 days!

hi i just my 4 wisdom teeth removed on thursday it is now saturday. i started getting this throbbing pain on the left side feels like i can feel my heart beat. is this a start of dry socket or am i just worring to much

thanks for the video Dr Mark..5 days ago I had a #19 molar pulled and they put bone graft and everything was fine for about couple days later and then swelling came back, 7 days later went dentist today for check-up and they said there was a dry socket the dentist cleaned and put medicine I I kept the gauze and I use tea bags but I did smoke a little bit, and drank hot hot coffee. my question to you is now how do I take care of this dry socket? I want it to heal, I learned the hard way what not to do. they got me on antibiotics. during work I keep gauze in to keep it clean and I've been rinsing my mouth with warm salt water when I get ready to go to bed. I gave birth without drugs. Dry socket is a zillion times more painful.

Hi Dr., thanks for that video, I am on blood thinner EFFIENT, for my heart stent put in about 8 months ago, would you recomend extraction at this time? and if so, how to stop bleeding? thanks again, god bless.

So the bone graft was when they used a drill type of thing in my surgery? I believe I have a dry socket cut still visible and I feel the sensitivity in the air tho how long will this heal and it hasn't seeped blood again and im on third day. I loss 2 clots by accident and never realized that the dark blood I spat and licked which I shouldn't have was a clot when I woke up.

Hi I just got my bottom wisdom teeth out a week ago but I notice there is a little indent with black stuff in it. It's not really a hole but I'm kind of worried it's dry socket but I don't feel any pain. Could ya help me? Is it a scab or dry blood? I don't think it's food as I rinsed it off quite a bit
