Tired of seeing all these "but muh gddr7" nvidia fanboys, faster ram speed will make a difference, but not enough to justify the nvidia tax, especially if they lowball the actual quantity of vram.

The vram capacities on these cards look terrible, ouch... In a world where we need more than ever, the amount of vram used in games is accelerating dramatically, and now AI drawing Vram as well until some kind of powerful dedicated system or card is released.... painful. I would hope for 20 gigs on the 5080, 16 gigs on the 5070 and 12 on the 5060. And that, is minimum, not preferred. We should be seeing 24 on the 5080 and 20 on the 5070... Especially since vram isn't that terribly expensive.

And of course, they better be at a half decent deal... If they're the same price as the current generation with barely any more video memory, that is going to be deeply unfortunate.

I've been dreaming of more CUDA cores for years. Since I got my 1080ti. For some reason, I felt the prices vs perf of 20, 30 and 40 series wasn't worth it. I have high hopes for the 50 series in term of cores and prices so I can update my gaming rig, which also serves me as scientific calculation platform that is using CUDA cores only.

i'll guess the 5080 will have 312 bit bus instead of 256, and have 20gb of vram. i'm hoping they will not gimp the 5080 like they did the 4080.

Yeah... 16Gb for 5080 is a no brainer pass. If it hits 20Gb for 1000$ it might go around well

Yeah, at this point, I don't expect anything near this for the cards below the 5080. NVIDIA has demonstrated that they don't really give a damn about anything other than the top of their stack.

It´s already confirmed (or at least most likely) that blackwell uses the same node like Ada (5nm aka "4N" (Ada) aka "4NP" (Blackwell))
