It's the total power envelop and instruction sets that determine max frequency. So GDDR7 lowers the power envelop so the core clocks can go up the cooling part wil be interesting.

if rdna4 comes with gddr7 and the 8900 xtx still have 24gb or higher for the price of $999, I would definitely get one no second thought.

I just want it to have 32GB VRAM, that alone decides whether I buy it or not. going from 24 to 28 GB Vram does not benefit anyone but 32BG would be an interesting upgrade...

I think the reason why people are saying that Nvidia doesn't care about the gaming PC market is because they are double dipping (price gouging) by charging individual consumers prices that are inching towards commercial GPU prices, minimal (crumbs from their table) vram increases, etc

They basically gave no uplift per dollar last gen aside from the 4090, and this gen they have no competition.

Clocks are nice but more interesting is if Nvidia wants to compete with RDNA4 or only focus on 5090 and AI.
