Building trust is so key to having people take you seriously and respect you. One of the easiest ways to lose trust is to lie to others.

After 5 years of being an online marketing consultant, showing up, building trust and impacting my clients’ businesses, I have very little to show for all the time and energy I have committed. My biggest take away from this video is that I am a dog. I have clients who treats me like a dog. I have been trying to change this perception but it’s so ingrained that I don’t think it will change. Thank you for sharing your message.

I love laughing all the time, making jokes and incorporating humor into almost everything. Im also autistic and adhd with social communication disorder, which means that I’m extremely fidgety and sometimes socially awkward. I ask a lot of questions move around and talk a lot. That’s how I stay happy. However, I want to be a leader and make the world a better place so if people are constantly laughing at me and not taking me seriously, then I can’t be a good leader. I realize this and I try to stop, but I can’t get rid of my clownish personality. I really want to be class president and section leader or drum major possibly a boss one day. I also want to form a band and possibly other groups as well as form a business.

Best advice for anyone - Just don't be knob. The workplace is abundant with knobs and no-one takes them truly seriously, no matter how senior etc. Yes, people might do what the 'boss' wants say but that's purely just to keep their jobs. However, if he's knob- like many of them are - there will be no loyalty when it really matters. Knobs always lose in the end.

I learned that trust is something that takes time to build. I've struggled with committing to all the things I need to do and that has lessened some of the trust someone close to me feels. I know I must work to build it back up so that person can respect me and not think that I am untrustworthy or incapable of accomplishing what they asked of me.
