I think the Classic Moc lives up to its name for sure. The first month, I’d only wear them for a couple hours before and after work. Then I started wearing them to work on my short days and I’d bring a pair of well broken in shoes and a couple times I made the switch. After a month, I wouldn’t say they are fully broken in, but they are quite comfortable now. Patience is the key.

I’m glad RW has kept a true heritage product relatively untouched. They offer the 1907 which offers an easier break in. The Classic Moc is offered in some very nice leathers, they really do a good job with their leather for a boot produced in such numbers. The 1907, I believe it’s offered in only one leather at the moment.

The funny thing about my Mocs, they are the Shoo Moc shoe in a light colored rough out, for as tough as they are, at the end of the day, they are a great looking shoe and arguably too nice to get beaten up at work. Once that insole has confirmed to the form of your feet, it’s a beautiful thing, a very solid feeling.

Oh yeah, the rolled collar could be a torture device in its own😅. The RW Blacksmiths too, and oh boy! it's just as painful. Ironically I feel the Iron Rangers are more comfortable.

That collar is my pain point too. Has it gotten better for you?

The instep on all my new moc toeboots, 875, roughneck is crippling! Cannot even break them in!

Honestly do not know this struggle. Mine are 1 size smaller than normal shoes, had them a week and been wearing them maybe 14h a day. No soreness, no rubbing just felt really snug and a little uncomfortable the first few days. Maybe sock choice is the difference, I’m wearing high quality medium weight merino hiking socks.

I don't get the Redwing hype. Theyre not my cup of tea. But wearing boots that are uncomfortable for a long time just isnt at the top of my priority list.
