I did 30% last year and it was awesome but way too expensive. This time im trying 5% and walmart had 1 gallons for 1.98 so I bought 12 of them, and ill just use it a little bit more :)

Hi,
With 30% vinegar: it’ll kill the weed and the grass as well.
How can I use that stuff: just want to kill weeds?
Tks

Thanks for posting. How much does the 30% vinegar cost?

How many gallons of water does your sprayer hold?

wait a minute, This is actually a test of 5%/ 20%/ and 15% not 30% - you diluted the 30% by half, thus almost equating it to the second test strength. And having just shopped for a bunch of these ( because I'm in Canada and we cant be trusted with Glyphosate( sp?) - for a gallon, the price is roughly ($Cad) $5, $ 50, $ 80 here this week. Crazy expensive for that strong stuff. I'd be interested to see what the difference in results using the strong to the med and light vinegar alone undiluted. I wonder if its worth it

Please let me know how to dilute my salt so it won't clog my sprayer?

why not just spay the vinegar on the weed then pour a little bit of salt on it afterwards?

But you didn’t explain why you’re using dish soap and adding salt, because vinegar by itself can kill the weeds! My understanding is it the dish soap gets on the leaves and keeps the vinegar from being washed off if it rain to waters I don’t know if that’s true or not

The only one that works is 30% vinegar .

Interesting test, I wonder however, the winner of your test had 2 ingredients added in, as well as the strongest vinegar. A true test would be, to keep everything fair and use the same extra ingredients on all 3 tests. You are comparing 5% - 20% and 30% vinegar which is an acid. Of course 30% acid is going to do more harm then 5%, and then you boost that 30% with a surfactant (soap) and moisture destroyer (SALT) and also, use your big pump sprayer, which puts down way more product under pressure, getting deeper to the soil and covering more foliage. Are we supposed to be surprised when that mixture beats out the other two lesser strength, and poorly applied products? I Had to laugh when you used a ultra fine mister bottle for test one, and just spritzed over the top of the section, then went up to a bit stronger spray bottle for number 2, and flat out got the big boy sprayer out for number 3. My hypothesis is this, Had you done a fair comparison of each vinegar type, using the same mix and spray method, you would have got the exact same results. A concentration of 5% vinegar is more then sufficient killing weeds and grass, at $2.00 a gallon, rather then dishing out $23.00 a gallon on 20% or 30% vinegar. One tip hardly ever shown in any of the video's showing this method of killing weeds is, to be sure your salt is fully dissolved into solution before you use it in your pump sprayer. If the undissolved salt makes it's way up into your feed tube, and into the spray wand, it will clog up solid and you got a real mess on your hands getting it unclogged. ( I learned this the hard way) "Hustlin dad" is 100% right about how well homemade weed and grass killer works, and I guess if you have the money, stronger vinegar is not going to work any less effective for you, so, I am NOT saying he is misleading anyone here about the ability of this 3 ingredient weed killer to work. Mix yourself up some and give it a try, I have been using it for years, and for me, weeds no longer break the bank to control them.
