I was surprised you didn’t mention the Luge athlete who died in the Calgary Olympics during a practice run. They even made changes to the course before the actual race.

Poor Richard Jewell, they really fucked that man's life up and never really gave him an apology. May he RIP, he really is a hero.

My friend was swimming for Ecuador when the Munich attack occurred. He said that he and his fellow athletes were located rather far from that section of the Olympic village and were not fully aware of what all was going on at the time. Not sure if TV access was restricted or what. Apparently the German police had that area of the village pretty locked down, but to everyone's horror it made no difference for those Israeli athletes. Such a tragedy.

Missing the death of the luger form Georgia at the 2010 games is a massive oversight on your part.

Some years back, I saw a riveting documentary about about the 1972 Olympic tragedy in Munich. Such a horrible event, especially the erroneous news reports blaring that all the hostages had been successfully rescued, when in fact they were murdered.

While that was happening in Tlateloco, the Halconez, who were a militant gorillas, were massacre in other students, who were unarmed, indiscriminately, in La Avenida Santa Maria. I was a little girl but the brutality and sanguineary these gorillas committed are still imprinted in my memory. All the events covered in your channel were sad and tragic.

There’s a tragic accident where a young Georgian man named Nodar Kumaritashvili who passed away from luge practice run in the 2010 winter Olympic.

I don't mean to sound insensitive, but I don't think that the water polo brawl is tragic. You should have included the fatal luge accident that took place during the 2010 Winter Olympics. *That* is a tragedy.

What about Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili, who was killed in a practice run on the day of the 2010 Opening Ceremonies?

Wow, the Georgian Luger that died the same day as the open ceremonies of the Vancouver winter games doesn't even get a mention?

Its funny how outside of Mexico they're known as the Tlatelolco "protest" and no as the Tlatelolco massacre, like they're known here.

I'll never in my .

whole life forget the 1972 Olympics tragedy. It was one of the most frightening things ever, beside Walter Cronkite's report on the Vietnam War on TV

11:04 I am infuriated by the failing of that ambush as well because it wasn’t the police’s fault. Black September reportedly used the news broadcasters who were on scene to learn where they were coming from.

I think the Tlateloco massacre should've been #1, because the HOST government MASSACRED thousands of THEIR OWN citizens for protesting the games itself, which opened only 10 days later.
I think that deserves more notoriety, since the Atlanta and Munich tragedies were security lapses by the host countries.

No doubt the “Munich Massacre” is the most Tragic incident in Olympic history. Even 50 years later.

Number 3 is a sad day to México, how many innocent people died that day.
