I've never felt this happy for someone I didn't know existed 3 minutes ago.

In the end he wasn't screaming for the medal he was screaming for that he didnt fall. He managed to beat his fear and stand on his feet, a true warrior. In all aspects in life the only fight we have to take is the fight with ourselves.

He still went on 8 years later?! What a machine. He should be so proud of it all - the landings and the tumbles.

Only man with iron heart can overcome this along 8 years. We can't imagine how much pain he suffered EVERY single nights.

I saw his fall in Beijing and in London and I felt so sorry for him and all his hard work. While watching him in Rio I was repeating in my mind "please don't fall" and he landed perfectly.
I was so proud of him, his strength, his resilience.

When people say “gold” is the only medal worth winning, they clearly haven’t met the people coming second and third or seen their emotions.. i mean just competing in Olympics is itself a pretty big deal and then making it to the podium is huge and admirable... just ask a guy who comes fourth..he would do anything in the world to earn that bronze back.
Ultimate respect to those who compete at this highest level for such long times and make their countries proud.

He literally fell on his bottom, then flat on his face, but that didn't stop him. He got back up and accomplished his goal.

He is truly inspirational!

I legitimately thought that this video would be about how to break your fall properly without injuring yourself

A prata mais dourada que ja vi nas olimpíadas. Um verdadeiro guerreiro, não desistiu até conseguir sua medalha. Parabéns, Diego Hipólito.

As Brazilian, he's in a remaining group of athletes that go with their hearts to each olympic games. He is a example of training discipline and an inspiration for all athletes here in Brazil.

This is the definition of a man and of a warrior.
This feeling, when he was crying, can probably be felt by a few percent of people in the world.
This is a pure and complex feeling at the same time. Proud of him!

The medal isn't made up of silver, it's made up of blood, tear and sweat.
