You missed the mark on Dan Jansen. He wasn’t just jinxed; his sister Jane died just hours before his first race in the 1988 Olympics, and he fell in both his events that year. In 1992, he finished out of a medal. In 1994, in his last race, he won gold, and to celebrate he took a victory lap…holding his infant daughter Jane, named for his late, beloved sister.

Yes!! The shared gold medal!! Honestly, that moment made me have that there are good people in this world. Qatar and Italy deserves it, and of course Derek running with his father, is still the most heart touching moment.

My favorite heartwarming Olympic moment isn't shown here but it's another one that happened during the 2020 Olympics.
On his way to his 110m hurdles event, Hansle Parchment accidentally ended up at the wrong venue, aquatics, rather than the main stadium. He got there with a few minutes to spare thanks to the help of a Serbian volunteer named Tijana who helped call a cab, giving him money to pay it, to take him to the correct venue. If it wasn't for her, he wouldn't have qualified for the final, nor would he have won the gold medal. After the event he tracked her down to show her his new gold medal. Such a wholesome moment. Tijana's an honorary Olympian

"My country didn't send me 2000 miles start the race, but to finish it"

One of the strongest quote I've ever read

Another great moment from this year’s Olympics (2022): The Finnish cross-country skier who won the 15km gold waited to congratulate the final finisher, a Colombian racer.

As a Filipino, you forgot to add mention weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz won the Olympic Gold medal in 2020/21 Tokyo Olympics, making it the first ever Olympic Gold medal in history of the Philippines. It was emotional and historic for our country after a long decades of countless silver and bronze medals win with no gold yet. Thank you, Hidilyn Diaz. #LabanPilipinas

Seeing them sharing the gold metal was the best part of last year.

I would want to include my own country (Philippines) here. We waited 96 years to get gold. And we were so proud when Hidilyn Diaz won gold for us in Tokyo. It warmed our hearts and still resonates today.

Most recently it was watching that Kiwi who won New Zealand's first Winter gold medal. Specifically watching the other two medalists rush out after her great--ultimately gold medal--run and dogpile on her in one happy pile of snowboarders because they were just so happy she'd done such an amazing run. The camraderie was great.

Thanks for including Joannie Rochette. This Canadian figure skater won a bronze medal just days after losing her mom and left the rink after finishing her routine in tears and I felt sorry for her

The German weightlifter and Derek running with his father both had me in tears oh man

My mind immediately went to the Rio Olympics, when Nikki Hamblin and Abbey D'Agostino had their collision during their 5000 meter heat and D'Agostino helped Hamblin up and they both finished the race together, despite both being injured (D'Agostino had a torn ACL and meniscus). It was the pure embodiment of the Olympic spirit

Thanks for putting my home country of Canada's Joannie Rochette's emotional performance at number 1! I'm from Vancouver and I actually saw this live after school when I was 12 and it really teared me up! And I still remember hearing about the Georgian athlete's death at the opening ceremony when I was watching it live after school and it was very unexpected and they had to do a moment of silence in his memory. And the track actually faced controversy due to alleged safety problems after the accident for a little while. Thankfully, nobody else had a fatal accident during the games.

As an Australian, Cathy Freemons run with both flags meant so much to all of us.

Tokyo 2021 was not the first time a gold was shared. In 2018 the German Francesco Friedrich and a Canadian athlete and their bobsleigh teams shared their gold after finishing with the exact same time after the final run.

US and South Africa: both had policy that divided races
The IOC: We are against this, we are banning-
USA: *gives a stash of cash*
The IOC: ...just South Africa
