There is a great need for male teachers in elementary school. Unfortunately there are a lot of children growing up without a decent male role model. This is very important.

Women and men, in the majority aspect will never be the same mentally, physically, job wise. Unless forced.

Not a lot of female red iron work workers, shinglers, oil rig workers, welders, under ground pipe fitters, high line workers. Women do not want to work out in the unprotected environment, and unpleasant jobs. But also not a lot of female plumbers, electricians, HVAC workers or mechanics.

The problem is we're not letting people decide what they want to be for themselves, this whole freaking you got to be this or you got to be that and you got to have so many this and you got to have so many that is ridiculous. It's all part of the separate them, and keep them divided routine. If you can do the job, and like the job, do it, if not, don't. Pretty simple actually.

This is a big problem. No hate to women out there ! But there's been a massive growth in "diversity hiring" in tech jobs where their goal is to hire "women" just to keep the gender ratio since there's so less women in tech industry !!

Now I haven't personally seen this but head a lot, I mean A LOT of stories where women were hired just for the sake of it !! While men had to compete more fiercely for the same job, same pay, since some spots were already reserved for women !!

This is real !! And it's happening !! And it's awful !!

While I would definitely prefer a diverse work environment with women in it, I would be really disappointed if I know that they didn't work hard as much as me to reach where they are !!

See this is what’s interesting as someone who started their education in astronomy and physics and landed in social work. I still would love to one day go back to school to learn about space and physics and I don’t think that I’m any less intelligent or capable than an astronomer or astrophysicist, but I do think that I have a natural proclivity towards understanding human emotions and behavior and a natural proclivity towards wanting to heal people and help others. None of that is a bad thing. The reason I changed majors and colleges from a STEM field in a city school to a social sciences field in a rural school had everything to do with culture and values and not proclivity towards the sciences. One day I do intend to go back to school not just for psychotherapy but for astronomy and physics as well. Hopefully once the world catches up to the intersection of spirituality and science and our ability to manipulate our environment. That’s the physics I want to study. How does literal magic work on and energetic level? How can our thoughts shape our literal physical reality, which is an active phenomenon that is not up for debate in any science field. One day! ❤

I attended primary school in 2 continents in tge '70s and in both cases, men and women teaching were equally represented, at least in numbers. But it took a 7ft tall male powerlifter to convince me that I wanted to learn math.

The initial problem was the pressure and almost the establishing of social law in which individuals are confined or pushed into particular roles attributed according to gender before personal merit, I.e. "women ought to be nurses, men who are nurses are failed doctors" or something like that.
But fighting that with "we're reducing all previous gender biases, but the fact the outcome is not 50/50 gender distribution must be a result of systemic sexism, so we must force people into fields they're not interested in and barricade the larger flow of people from other field" is just sad.

I think all that is needed is equal opportunity.. pass that we make our own choices with our own preferences. There can never be equal outcome because we're all individuals with different choices therefore different outcomes. And in general women make different choices than men do men tend to believe their place is to make money so being CEO and not having time for the family can be a priority for them women generally don't accept that position because their priority tends to be family. That does not mean that a woman can't accept that position, if that's her choice she should have that choice if she's the best candidate. 👍 But there won't be equal numbers because in general women make different choices than men and that's okay.

How's that even an issue? Just let people do whatever they want, as long as they're capable. Then if all nurses turn out to be women, so what? What if all engineers are men, who cares?

Yeah should be a balance thats why study and tests are good because if a man or a woman wants to work in a line of work if they are capable to do that job well and properly it should be ok. As history has proven we work together quite alot its just a compatibility thing we do isnt it?

I think the goal for society is to have everything free to everyone not on a gender basis, but a human wants basis, and let humans sort themselves into the patterns that we may observe have gender/sex related causes. Because it may be that women are more likely to work in these fields or men work in those fields, but it doesn't mean that we should create limitations to these fields, based on gender just because of the generalized patterns we see in society. We, as a society must make space for the reality of outliers in statistical patterns surrounding gender and its relation to career interests and the work force. But this also means creating equal outcome in every equal opportunity and in every profession. This is why there is more encouragement for women to pursue stem jobs or more masculine leaning jobs. Not just because we are trying to accommodate for outliers in gender patterns, but because we are trying to give women a higher socio-economic outcome, that doesn't usually come with more feminine leaning careers. I'm not trying to say that all masculine jobs have high socio-economic outcome, because that purely isn't true. But we can recognise how association of femininity or masculinity can affect the outcome of a lot of career opportunities that are associated with upper middle class work. The goal is to give humans the opportunity to choose where they want to go in life (give them equal opportunity) but to also make sure that careers are given equal socio-economic worth, therefore pattern abiding people or outliers in these gender patterns can feel comfortable and live comfortably without masculinity or femininity influencing their careers inherent worth.
Feel free to discuss this topic with me and point out any holes in my statement, or points that you may agree with.

True about Psychologists and social workers and their identity politics stereotyping and smearing males as ever homogeneous group needs a scapegoat.

But it's said people should follow their dream and interest for a career. Therefore there may always be a discrepancy. There are more diverse career choices but it's not that dramatic numbers change right now. Futuristic jobs may change this.i don't know.

Who'd have thought we'd see a day where men being men and women being women would be a topic for debate. Next let's question whether grape vines should grow tulips and cows should give birth to bumblebees.
